Wish I could make it...love Crane Hill course.
But...I'm traveling that day in my 1932 Dodge Brothers Sedan with Pat to our club's annual international meet in northern NJ for a week long event!
It's tough to coordinate multiple loves in life.
Have fun!

A CHAIN OF EVENTS—The Origin & Evolution of Disc Golf
I've know Jim Palmeri forever. Well, since the late 1970s anyway. Neither of us can remember when we first met. Was it at an early NAS meet in Amherst? Kensico Dam? An AFDO in Rochester? By 1979 we were both competing at Oak & Spruce for a trip to the $50K out in Huntington Beach, CA. We both got an ...

Sadly, I'll be missing this one. I've been dealing with a nasty, chronic health issue for the past 7 months and haven't touched a disc in 9.

Right on, Dave. It was either at an '83 Amherst tourney or that one at the U of M, Boston (where you beat me by one stroke in a sunset playoff) that I first encountered the game-changing Aero. (I still have and occasionally use my first run Aero...great disc!)

Prioritizing the purse is not always prioritizing gambling. With regard to the AM purse, prioritizing the purse may be prioritizing the course. The funny money used by AMs can be a significant source of funding for a course. If the course is on public land and not pay-to-play, then it may be the ...

Re: 2012 NE Masters&Legends of DG Championship II July7th@TBA
From what I've seen of watching the best "seasoned" players in the world I've found that putting is far more important (and indeed more practiced) than the long bombs. I think a course that would have a higher percentage of putts (<50) to drives (>200) would be a better fit for the patriarchal ...

My impression of last year's event (a superb start!) was that even we oldest competitors handled everything Tully threw at us as a fair challenge (well, except maybe a few of those @#!%# back nine woods holes...just kidding!). So, both carts and caddies would be a luxury, not necessarily worth the ...

Is this course still around?
Nope. It's long gone. Good thing, too: heavy plastic turned it into a quaint dinosaur...doomed to extinction.
My memory seems to recall the baskets were bought by a group of early NEFA DGers in the late-80s who reinstalled them elsewhere (possibly eastern MA?).

Re: Petersham Country Club COURSE under construction
For the historical record, Oak N' Spruce Resort in South Lee, MA was the first "Ball & Chain" combo in New England. The DG course was designed by Ed Headrick in 1977 and served as the location for the regional qualifying tournament for Wham-O's 1979 international $50,000 Tournament held in ...

As a side note, I missed out what has happened to Victor over the past 13 years or so, since his book. It looks like he sold all or most of his collection? Is he OK?
As Victor himself has publicly revealed, he's had trouble job-wise with resulting financial woes, but he's still his old feisty self!

It's not immediately ringing any bells. I took a quick look in several likely boxes of similar discs but nothing so far. I even did a database search for all of my mold 4 discs but nothing close there.
It's easier to say what it's not because most discs have something more specific to ID them ...
