Re: Getting back 2 strokes for a Lost Disc
I think the idea is that you don't get the throws removed from the score unless it's known that the disc was removed before it could be found. As in, the person turning it in says when they found it and you put 2+2 together to reveal the timing.
I won't disagree that the wording could be better. In ...

Re: Getting back 2 strokes for a Lost Disc
I'd say no because it isn't the act of the disc returning that triggers the deduction of two throws, it is the discovery that the disc was removed or taken before it could be found. That your disc is found and returned isn't enough to argue that it was removed or taken at all. Unless we want people ...

Re: Question for NEFA BOD
NEFA membership is dropping off in the, shall we say, outlying areas because those areas no longer really need it. As more courses pop up and more players find the game, everything is naturally going to be more and more fragmented.

Re: Question for NEFA BOD
One more question, how many nefa sanctioned events per state?
Just a quick glance thru last years calendar.....
27 in MA, including a few Womens events and a Juniors event
9 in NY plus Mighty Gaw is NEFA in NJ, my region also. I'm adding one more this year.
6 in VT
4 in NH
3 in ME

Re: New Age-Based Competition Divisions Starting in 2018 (PDGA)
Honestly, I don't see a need change anything for local (NEFA or PDGA) events. IMO, the place for these new divisions are at events exclusively for age-protected divisions (like a Senior Games or the Tim Selinske) or at large scale tournaments that have the capacity and the draw to populate them ...

Re: OB disc not usable for second throw
I've always been told that if your drive goes OB you can not use that same disc to re-tee. So are you saying that is not the case?
There is no rule nor has there ever been a rule that barred a player from using a disc strictly because it landed OB. You can use the same disc if you can retrieve it ...

Re: Marking after first doubles throw prohibited
The rule book is written for singles play, so no, this isn't specifically addressed in the book. The closest it comes is in the Q&A section , which addresses changing the marking method...switching from mini back to thrown disc, which is prohibited.
However, there are a few general rules for ...

Re: OB disc not usable for second throw
Wouldn't the Time Rule pretty much prohibit the option to retrieve the thrown disc? Especially if it was a drive.
Just Wondering.
I don't think so. You are allowed reasonable time to retrieve your disc regardless of how far it is. The clock should start once you take your stance.

It might prevent the player from retrieving the disc and immediately re-throwing it if it's far enough away from the player's next lie, but that wouldn't be the case ...

Nope. Not a rule. Whoever told you that...an idiot.
Kudos to you, though, for looking it up instead of taking their word for it.

Re: 4th Annual 28 Chain Salute - July 8/9th - NEFA / PDGA C
Per the schedule on DGScene, the players' meeting is behind the Hawks Nest. Does that mean check in is there as well and everyone should be parking at the store rather than the lot on Antietam Street? Pretty big detail that should be clarified before Saturday.

Re: Pyramids Invasion V - June 10th - Reg opens May 16th @ 9pm
This says it is a PDGA C-tier but it doesn't yet appear on the PDGA schedule. Is it really going to be sanctioned?
Fixed
So does this mean it is sanctioned (and you're "fixing" that with the PDGA) or that it isn't sanctioned (and "fixed" is removing all mention of PDGA-C from flyers)?

Less than two weeks to go...
A whole bunch of people just got in from the waitlist today. We've added two brand new holes to the course (two that will eventually be part of our second 18) and as a result we have eight more places in the tournament.

Re: Rules for best shot doubles
Let's take the incorrect lie off the table because there was no such issue. This team simply did not agree on which was the better lie. So on 2 occasions they each played from their own.

And if the answer is yes, then I understand that they have to hole out from player B's lie no matter what.
they don't have to hole out. they have to take the result of player B's shot after they nullify Player A's by calling it the "wrong lie". You would be correct to tell them they can't ...
