Any other scotch drinkers out there? Here's what I have currently opened...

Highland Park 12yr
Glenmorangie The Quinta Rubin 12yr Port Cask
Dalwhinnie - 1990 Distillers Edition
Lagavulin - 1991 Distillers Edition
The Speyside 12yr
Glenlivet Nadurra 16yr

My recommendations:

Lagavulin 16yr
Oban 14yr

Always looking for other recommendations...

I love me some scotch. Had some Ardmore the other day. Similar to an Oban. Let me know if you need any assistance with those open bottles

A friend of mine is is at Byrnes Irish Pub in Bath Maine, orders a couple of BUSHMILLS, then he notices the MIDLETON IRISH WISKEY he orders a Glass on the rocks, the Bartender does NOT mention the price, when he gets his tab- $5.00 for the bushmills and its $44.00 for the Midleton! (it was $22 a shot and on the rocks they give you 2 shots) He can't believe the bartender wouldn't tell him of the higher price when he was ordering it. He did say it was very very good though..

Over the past month I have gottin into the Scotch scene. I got 3 bottles for Christmas.
The Macallen 15- The old stand by from what I hear, really smooth
The Singleton 12- Just started on this bottle, has a sugary finish, looking forward to hitting it again.
Cragganmore 12- The Smokey finish I’m looking for, This bottle lasted less than 24 hrs.

Saturday night at Moe’s bro’s place we had a great tasting session, We had:
The Balvenie 10- Won top honors amongst all the tasters (Me, Moe, Moe’s Dad, Moe’s Bro, and his Mother in Law)
Johnny Walker Blue-----It's a blend but its awesome. Super Smooth but I will never be able to afford it.
The Singleton 12- One of the bottles Santa got me, I hit up a tall glass of this after the tasting.
The Macallen 12- Like I said above, would never turn down a hit of Macallen
Woodford Reserve- This is a Kentucky Bourbon, The bottle just seemed to belong in the mix because it was there, Had a strong alcohol/medicinal taste after the Scotches but still really nice.
Johnny Walker Red- The Cheapest Blend from JW, definitely the roughest but I would hit it with a lot of water if that’s all you got.

The only other one I drank is Talisker 10 which is the bottle that got me into Scotch to begin with. A really GOOD peaty Scotch.

The Lagavulin 16 yr is on deck recommended by Paul O.

Now it's time to rest my liver for New Years.

Last bottle of scotch i had was JW Swing. Good stuff, but I'm looking to try out some others.

Penderyn Aur Cymru Single Malt Welsh Whiskey. Will make you forget about the existence of Scotch (at least for a little while).

Scoward, if you like a smokey/peaty scotch try one of the Islay's like Lagavulin or Laphroaig. Laphroaig is really, really good. Caol Ila is good too, not as smokey. Lagavulin is probably my favorite...

I just returned from the land of sheep shagging, Edinburgh to be exact. They have a fun drinking game called Salmon fishing, you rise early in the AM, put on your finest fishing gear, head to the river bank and talk about the last fish you've landed. Which ulimately leads to chat regarding the water, maybe its running to fast, too slow, it might be dirty or the wrong time of year to be fishing altogether. Someone cracks a bottle of single malt and before to long your solving world problems with ten other gentlemen in a language barely recognizable as English. Its fun and relaxing.

My favorite single malt is Benrinnes, a Speyside single malt that is insanely smooth and drinkable. Because of their distilling process it lacks the firey after taste of other whiskey from the same region, I also enjoy Bunnahabain from Islay. I've never met a single malt I didn't like (sometimes it takes 3 to decide) but when they get too smokey or peaty I add a cap full of Drambuie and an ice cube or cold water to mellow the flavor slightly.

Right now, my favorites are the ones you have to put back down on the table after you sip it and go for the ride. The smoothies go down too fast and are gone before you know it. They are all good though.

Two of my regular favorites are not on the list yet. Laphroaig, espescially the Quarter Cask; and Bowmore Darkest 15 yr old. They are both Islays and very Peetey. You can get them in NH for a pretty goood deal.

booo....Benrinnes not distributed in CT....looks like I need to take a road trip to the border...

Can you describe the layout/length of this CTS hole so I can start practicing? If this will be a "Pay for throws" charity type of CTB, I’ll have a dirty bottle of Seagram’s 7 to put out there also.

Jameson gets your power back.
My sister lives in one of the hard hit areas of the last ice storm. She noticed everyone around her had electricity and that the problem was between the pole and her house, which puts her near the bottom of the list for repair. She went down to the packy and bought a big bottle of Jameson stood at the end of her driveway and waved it at the first utility truck that went past her house. She had her power back within three hours of buying that bottle, the power of whiskey.
Ryan I don't have any Benrinnes but I do have a Bramble Whiskey, which is sweet but potent, if I ever play in an organized event with your name on it I'll put some in a flask and find you.
