Bethel, ME

Post by Rob Walker »

I am going to a bachelor party at a cabin in Bethel, ME. Most people are going ball golfing on Saturday. I figured that I can save some money and go disc golfing.

What is the best course to go to if I am staying in Bethel, ME?

Anyone interested in playing this Saturday?
Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that disc getting bigger?". Then it hits me.

Shortest ride and easiest to get to is probably Creative Recreations in South Paris. If you take the typical route to Bethel, you'll probably pass right by it on your way up as it is about a half mile off Rt 26. It's a fun course, lots of elevation to deal with. Just bring your bug spray...I've heard that the mosquitoes are nasty right now up there.

Next closest options are Dragan Field in Auburn and Cranberry Valley in Turner. Probably an extra 25-30 minute drive compared to Creative Rec. If you want to go in a different direction, Wildcat Mountain in NH probably isn't that much more of a drive than the courses in Maine. Though I still recommend Creative if you're likely going it alone.

Wish I could join you for a round, I enjoy Creative Rec, but I'll be at the Skyriders Classic in Fairfield. Bit of a hike from Bethel (it's a bit of a hike for me from Auburn too), but that's always an option for you as well if you have that much time during the day.

Thanks, Josh. I realized from the PDGA web site that it was the closeset course, but was looking for opinions about it and other close courses. 20 Miles away shouldn't be a big deal. Thanks for the advice.
