Newton Hill League Ban on Women
I'll be there tomorrow. Everyone's invited. 10 a.m. We shoveled the tees last week so they shouldn't be too (good) bad.
We can understand if you'd rather stay home and stare out the window on a New England Saturday rather than brave the cold and the beauty of Newton Hill, denying yourself great joy, fresh air, exercise, and possibly the best round of your life, with a new partner, whom you'll eventually marry and raise kids with.
Okay that's a little far afield. We'd like to emphasize that women are so invited it's unbelievable. Women are so invited we'll go so far as to ban all women and leak it to the press to cause a sensation just to get women to come.
We want women to come so bad we're giving any doubles team with a woman two strokes to start. We've been thinking about such a move for awhile. We already want women; this is exactly the rule to make us want women even more.

Took it down for the second straight week, 60 to 63 over my good friend Rick Belhumeur. It doesn't seem that difficult a course but, dang, good scores seem something of a rarity there. The rougher rough of a first year course does tend to penalize bad throws more than usual, but Rick and I came up with another, more believable, theory: We just suck.
We'll be challenging (and perhaps proving) that theory once again this Saturday. 10 a.m. Come join us.

bummer
That one may have to wait a while Sandy. I was going to check for you tomorrow, but with 10 more inches of snow... Maybe we'll melt again by Tourney 54 and we can find it then.
Nice job yesterday though!

Ya, that would be me. Yes, Mike Cormier called Jesse, who called me before I made it too far. Thanks so much guys. I figured it was a sign to play more so Mike, V, and I played another round.

Looking for someone to run Newton Hill League
There were seven of us last Saturday and Yaskis and John Williston took it over me and Belhumeur on the last hole, and the last putt, which didn't go it, cause my putting smells like toe cheese.
I won't be there this Saturday and I guess I'm retiring for this year from running Newton Hill league. If someone would like to step up and run the league during this time slot or at some other time, that would be awesome. I'm kind of at the point where I want to do other things on Saturday morning -- maybe play other courses -- and would be overjoyed to pass the torch.
If not, we can let the league enter an inactive phase where someone itching to do something can take it over and make it his/hers.
