Dorchester Course

Post by Tyler Cass »

Who is working on getting the course put in at the Pope John Paul park of Gallivan BLVD? Someone went to a Civic Association meeting to propose this?

My folks still live in Dot and my pops is active in the Cedar Grove Civic Association, which has an influence on the decision. He was all pumped about the proposal!

Please PM me... I would like to help this effort.

That's interesting. I've been wondering what's been going on with this for a long time now.

Mike D. and myself went to tour the park with the Junior Ranger (?) who was working on this what, 2 years ago?, to help configure the 9 hole layout and give our opinions in what he had already worked out.

At the time, they were super motivated and had a great plan in place but that was the last I had heard of it.

It would be pretty sweet and it's right off the expressway with a view of Boston in the background ... hundreds of thousands of people would physically see disc golf being played every single day as the park is in sight of motorists driving by and the park itself is open with rolling hills.

Nice. Thanks guys! I played one of the demo days. Nice little 9 hole course with priceless exposure from the expressway. And considering how many people visit Borderland to play DG I'd hope the DCR gives it the green light.

Wow that would be great to have a course in the Dot, even 9 holes. Trying to get to and from Boderland before work is a stretch. Keep us in the loop.
