TC FINALS location 2010

Post by Jeff Conant »

Guess we need to take this issue to the board.
kinda wish it could've been solved otherwise.
But we've been left no other alternative
and for the common courtesy of ALL involved
who need to make appropriate plans for the event
this issue needs to be resolved
or at least a contingency plan put in place.

We have been in contact with Cran
It's not much of a conversation
as Cran has Warwick on da brain.
Fact be known that until they beat Burgess
Cran doesn't really have a say.

Farm Team isn't asking for the Finals to be in Maine.
We could certainly find huts to house everyone.
There are plenty of wonderful eating establishments and hotels as well...
We aren't requesting this
BECAUSE IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE
In the spirit of the challenge
And/or logistically of the majority of the teams.

MH/P’mids final is definitely a compromise for us.
We feel that we have played well enough to demand
a level playing field for da finals this season,
and that is all we r asking for.
Not an advantage, just not a disadvantage again
like last year when the group challenge & finals
were both in Ct at courses we never had played before
and we didn’t say anything cause we were da newbies
well…not this year.

Why would the Farm team
want to travel 5 hours
after work on Friday
pay to stay in hotels
for the 3rd weekend
of the TC season
only to play a course blind
while two of the better teams
(specifically Cran and Cap Law)
would own an unreasonable course familiarity advantage.
Seriously... are you kidding.

So Cran, if u beat Burgess
Do the right thing for all.
Let’s meet in Leciester
On April 10th
to decide this year’s Team Challenge Champion!

2nd. It does make the most sense.

One of the things I really miss about this TC is the group finish at the end. The absolute best year was at Barre. Everybody came and played (teams were small enough to fit on the course). At the break I remember working that huge grill with Josh Rogers and Jeff Chauvin, getting everybody food. Burgess gave back their seasons winnings to better the cause for everybody. They also brought tons of beer. It just seems to have lost some of the comrodery and become more of a strictly competitive league.

Pyramids/Maple Hill finals at least allows everyone to come together in the end.

Just the opinion of one humble nobody here.

Do as you wish.

Wanting a team to travel 5 hours is rediculous

To make a team travel 5 hours is absurd.

Maple Hill / PYMIDS would be an awesome alt. I would be happy to house some peeps.

On the fip side, Farm team signed up for this team challenge and agreed to the traveling aspect.

Skylands is a great course though. Either way it wont be fun for the farm team.

MEOWS

Post by Bobby Cowperthwait »

Cpt America has spoken!

Just to shed some light here...
The reason I want Warwick is I
believe its a BETTER course than MH or PmidZZ.
For those people who are whining about driving....
go get a funk tissue.

P.S. I've played M.H/pmids more than the BETTER course anyway.

We'll talk more on the 28th!

I don't think that anyone that has played it would argue that Warwick is not one of the best courses on the east coast. North Calias is a kickazz course too but no one is talking about playing there because it is out of the way from everyone.

Hey, lets have em set up the ropes and we can go play Rock Hill!

Well said Conant. Thats totally understandable.

I would love to play Maple as well. It just sucks to drive 4 hours to play it. To me 4 hours is pretty much the same as 5 hours once im on the road.

If the Farm team is 5 hours from Warwick and Warwick is the farthest course from them in the challenge...there must be a course that is 2 1/2 hrs for all.

Is there? What about Hyzer Creek?

Warwick has to be like 6 hours minimum from the Maine Guys. Set me straight if this isnt the case.

Hmmmm, Renny gold! I might be in for that. Now there's a great challenge. What a punishing course.

I agree, but with all the hype over $4.50 on all the other threads, I thought I would identify a potential problem.
