Hyland orchard & brewery disc golf course

Post by Don Boutin »

After years of working on the owner of Hyland's it is official. Hyland disc golf course will be opening soon.
Once all the baskets are purchased and installed we will have a grand opening.
I am looking for people or groups of people to sponsor baskets. If you buy a basket you will have a lifetime membership. These individuals will get special deals, more details to follow. A group of up to 5 people can purchase a basket and all five will get lifetime memberships. Members will get free bag tags and free beers when we have members parties. It would be cool if teams pitched in to get a basket and that hole would be sponsored by the whole team.

As far as I can tell this will be the only course in the U.S. at a brewery.
I would like to thank all of you who played in the tournament there last year. It was a major part in getting this course. This year will be twice as good and just as much fun.
Course improvements are underway. Even the 19th hole is getting better. :drunken: Pioneer Brewing Co. is brewing new beers and root beer.

There is one other beer related course that I know of out in Oregon.

Anderson Valley Brewery in California has an 18 hole course that's been around quite a while. Plays nice with some great views and beers! Good luck, I'll be getting a membership.

Marshall Street would like to sponsor a basket. What kind of basket? I think it's possible to buy 9 at a time and still get the 18-basket bonus. Plus NEFA usually sponsors a basket for emerging courses in New England and environs.

Good job Don. Thoughts become things.

Is that only for pay to play courses?

The owner of the new course in Rindge NH was wondering about that

but it seems to be worded as NON pay to play courses.

just wondering if anyone knows the answer to that.

Basket Sponsor

Post by jthebodo »

How much is it going to cost to sponsor a basket? I play with a fairly regular set of friends and I think I could probably get four of them to go in on a basket. Also, when is opening day going to be?

Thanks Ditterman.
$350 is the cost.
The grand opening will be as soon as all the baskets are in. I would hope to have it completed in a month but sooner is possible. With one big work day to cut, clean and prep t boxes and a nother to install baskets the course will be . As of now we have 14 potential basket sponsors. They are going quick jump on this amazing deal while it lasts. Marshall street jumped on board yesterday.
I will be out there all day again today working on new 8 and 9.

OK, Team NASA is taking the bait -- can't pass up the opportunity to have a lifetime membership on 100 acres of prime brewery real estate. Please send me a note on where to direct payment.

You can send it to my house or give it to Wendy at league. You could also give it Boliver and he can give it to me.
Thanks

This is shaping up nicely.
One basket sponsor left. The course is going through some big changes.
Six new holes, two holes getting a new Tee box locations, and 14 holes will have a short and a long Tee box. We are also looking at a winter/spayed layout. During winter holes in the woods are easier to play. Also when the apple trees get sprayed there is a 24 hour period when 11,15,16,17,18 will not played. We have looked at an alternate location for these holes. Keeping this course playable year round is going to be a big part in the rise to the top of favorite courses. We have also discussed cover Tee boxes for the winter time. No more snow and ice to worry about. As soon as the baskets are delivered the front 10 will be open for play. Remember this is going to be a members course only.

1st post says 1 year memberships are only $30, and daily guest fees are $5. If you decide the 1 year membership isn't for you, Rich, I'd be happy to meet you for a round, as my guest.

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks Greg, if I don't get the yearly membership, I'll take you up on that.

Rich that is correct. It was the only way I could get this course in and make the owners feel comfortable with having people on thier property. Everyone who has already become a member I can rely on to treat this place with respect. I have seen the damage and the stupid things some will do for no reason at all. This course would never last if anyone could come and play as they please. The membership is cheap enough to let people join. Once the course is up and running, play a few rounds with Greg or any other member and then decide if you want to join.

OK, I'm a little late to the part, but sooo psyched to check out this brewery (and course : )).

Don, when can you give me a tour? I'm happy to help with some work as well.

The band playing this Sunday sounds amazing! http://www.jediah.com/

I will be there on Sunday working on the course. I can show you or anyone around then. There are 10 playable holes right now. A few of them will change but I left them there so the regulars could still play them. The hole course is layed out just need to do some clearing and burning.
The band playing there is good. I have seen them many of times.
