Are the PDGA ratings for suggestion only? I'm currently at 888 which puts me at Blue square. Just checking before I sign up.

just so you folks know, the poster for this topic (Laura Worthen) is the Events Coordinator at Sugarbush and without Laura's efforts this project would have been in peril.

so please give her a shout and thank her for her energy and enthusiasm.

Lauren, on behalf of many disc golfers from New England, Thank you for your efforts. Disc golf rocks, and people who contribute to it are even cooler.
EKAP, blue squares??? Do the black diamond... I hope to be there playing also.

I don't belong to PDGA and hence have no rating at all...does this matter for this tournament?

this is a non-sanctioned event, deliberately, so that non-PDGA disc golfers would be encouraged to come and play.

we want all recreational players! we want beginners! we want intermediate players! we want pros!

for those that don't have a rating, the divisions basically loosely translate as follows:

Double Black Diamonds: ratings 950+ = Pro level
Black Diamonds: ratings 900-950 = Advanced
Blue Squares: ratings 850-900 = Intermediate
Green Dots: ratings 800-850 = Recreational
Bunny Slopes: ratings less than 800 = Beginner or Junior or Lower Recreational

if you don't have a rating try and figure out where you belong by asking those you play with approx what your rating would be or what skill level you feel you are.

So cool to have found this thread. This is where it all started. First tourney won Rec and never looked back. A sign from the gods? We will see tomorrow.
