New Course: Lamb City Campground

Post by Ben DAmore »

Was there last week and was shocked to see that they have a 9 hole course scattered throughout the property! Considering all of the good course in the Central Mass. area, it's definitely not worth going there to play, but if you're camping it's a nice distraction. The first hole starts right outside the check-in area, maps are available inside.

Unfortunately, playing the course is an exercise in caution. In spots, you need to make a blind throw down a public walkway to throw towards the next hole. And the ninth hole is utterly unplayable, as you need to throw across a basketball and volleyball court, up a tiny walking trail, then a hard right to the basket. The first 4 holes are the "best" (only 1 hole where you need to worry about hitting someone, and it's easily remedied by moving the tee up 30 feet). The second half of the holes are wooded but if you go off of the path the woods are extremely thick.

Again, not worth going out of your way to play, but if you're camping it's a nice way to kill the time!

They have the space to do something if they were willing to go through the woods. The first hole could probably play as is. It's on a little used walking trail and is a tight 450ish hole on a slight bend to the right. Everything else needs work! The baskets are all brand new, so hopefully something comes of it. My wife is on an RV kick (my mother-in-law has one) and Lamb City is a ton less than Normandy Farms!
