Not sure how the PDGA handles this one, didn't know if anyone else has experienced this themselves.
I am not PDGA "current" in 2010. I knew my schedule this year was going to prevent me from playing many/any tournaments, especially PDGA-sanctioned ones, so the $75 renewal for the year didn't seem worthwhile. Right now it appears that I'll only be playing two events this year, yet of course both of them are going to be PDGA.
I'm paying my $10 non-current "fee" for both of these events. My question is, once I renew for 2011 will the rounds I played in 2010 count towards my rating calculations next year? Will they be ignored since I wasn't active when the event happened (that's how we do it in NEFA - it's why you have to sign up/renew before round 1 begins if you do it at an event), or will they still count?
It's not going to affect how I play, but I'm just curious.

Re: Ratings while not a current member
It's your choice. If the TD reports your scores attached to your PDGA number, the ratings get calculated and scores tracked in your history even if you can't see them while non-current. If you sign up at the event with "no PDGA number" then the scores and ratings can't get linked to your history for the future if you become current at some point.

Re: Ratings while not a current member
makes sense. but that means as long as i AM reported with my pdga #, it will retroactively "count" once I'm current again. thanks for the clarification chuck
Re: Ratings while not a current member
I have not signed up to be a PDGA member, but plan on doing so after October, and let it carry over to next year. Its my understanding that they will go back 12-24 months to find all PDGA events that I have participated in to get me a rating. Is this correct?

They can't find them unless you give them a list of 2010 events you played. Your PDGA number is what is used and those events wouldn't have your name with a PDGA number. Only 2010 events would be added. The 2009 year is closed for updates.
