Andrew,
I've played a few tourneys recently with a few Maine golfers and I asked them the same question as I have a place on Frye Island and want to hit up some near-Sebago courses this summer. The course that everyone mentioned was in Gorham, ME (I don't know if it has another name besides its town).
I don't know what side of the lake you're on but I have to travel up the east side of the lake to get to the ferry, so I travel from Rt 95, up Rt 302 through North Windham. It looks like where Rt 95 and Rt 302 meet is Gorham so it shouldn't be too far off of Rt 95. That'll be the 1st course in Maine I'll play this year.

There are rumors that a course is set to open sometime in mid-June in Windham, right on 302 by the lake. Of course, we've been hearing rumors of that one opening "soon" since this time last year, so take it with a big grain of salt.
As Jeff said above, there are a few courses within a short drive from the lake. Depending on where on the lake you are staying, some will be closer than others. But Bennett Farm in Gorham is probably your best bet if you want to hit something coming or going from the lake.
http://www.mainediscgolf.com/courses.php shows all the active courses in the state so you can get an idea of what's what. That's active according to the PDGA directory, which is another useful tool for finding courses close to a location.
There are NEFA tournaments on the first three weekends in June in Maine, if that makes any difference at all. Two out of the three are probably among those seven Jeff alluded to: DDGC on June 6, Creative Rec Championships on June 13.

Speaking of near-sebago course rumors, I'll be working on trying to get a course on Frye Island.
Frye Island, in the middle of Sebago lake, holds a pretty nice 9-hole ball golf course. When the land was allocated for the golf course (like in the 1970s), they saved land for 18 holes, but due to funds only built 9 holes.
Many people on the island (especially the ones who have been there since the beginning like my grandfather) knew that they wouldn't see the other 9-holes anytime soon, so someone had the pretty good idea to use some of the land to build a driving range. About 5-10 years ago, they cleared out the area but then funding became a big issue. Then I heard last year that the driving range plans had come to an end because those involved in the construction couldn't agree on plans so they scrapped the idea.
Now there is a bunch of unused land with an open 250yd field. Vacationing there for my entire life, I know that there aren't a ton of family activities on the island unless you have a boat and something behind it on a rope. It's a perfect time to propose a disc golf course there because the land is there, the initial costs are minimal (especially thinking of new ways to generate island business in this economy) and the field is next to the clubhouse so the staff is there.
I've talked to some other islanders and they love the idea, especially when I tout how it's a family activity with low costs (family of 4 can get a pack of 3 discs for ~$20/ea and have fun for the entire summer). Also if they do a charge of $5/day to play and $1-2 rentals at the clubhouse it can generate money for the clubhouse while requiring little else from the staff.
I plan on attending a town meeting this summer to propose the idea. I may even bring discs and baskets and maybe will even set up a little temporary 3-hole course on a field to generate interest. I have two friends down here in MA that have had public courses developed in the last 3 years so I've had some good input, but if there's any Maine Disc Golf organizations that could help or give any input, please let me know.

Re: Courses Near Lake Sabego in Maine
It's funny how things can change in a year. We were up on the lake for the BDF tourney over the weekend and sure enough saw the "Rocky Mountain Disc Golf" sign at the Seacoast Fun Park on Rt. 302 in Windham. Mixed emotions because although I'm super pumped to have a course right near the island, I was told it hurts my chances to get a course on the island since there's now a course a stone's throw off the island.
So.... Rocky Mountain Disc Golf huh? Seacoast website doesn't say much. Mainediscgolf.com doesn't have a full description. So what are we to expect? We drove up to hole #1 and saw the 230' uphill shot as well as the "Designed by Dragan" sign. I'm guessing this is either another sweet Maine course... or a "family-friendly" putter course with all holes ~200'. Please tell me it's the former???

4/20/11, Ace #2, Devens - Hole 18. You just read that.
Re: Courses Near Lake Sabego in Maine
I've heard its a pretty nice course, with some weird shots on the course. I heard hole 18 seems dangerous with a down hill 500ft+ I think with the family slides on the right side, waiting for your drive to turn over and clean a family off their feet. Other than that, its like any new course that needs some foot traffic to clean it up a bit, and player feedback to make it better.

Slides are to the left. Making it a bit dangerous if you saw your shot off. Should be ok during the summer season. Not to crowded, but could be if you dont throw too far. It is down hill so................
