Money or No Money?
Should we play for money?
I say yes, because it's a good incentive to play and bragging rights are fun. But, some people seem to have a problem with it.
Team fee is each team pays the same amount.
Player fee is each player pays the same amount, so if a team has less players it's not more per player.

It seems some level of funding is desired to provide for trophies and food/beverages at Finals. I don't see the need for cash prizes, but I'm OK with it too.
If there is going to be a collection, it's much easier to keep it a flat team rate.

Flat team fee....100% you need $ to keep this rolling in future for reasons above and my original impression when TR first signed on was winning team played for a prize to help their home course out...
That would be cool if teams put the $ towards a course or future team!
The $ was not an issue last year the A/B pool was the issue...

Ok seems like money won and good points by JD and Titan. We'll do the same as last year, $200 per team with 50% from the B Pool team going towards their finals.

Re: Money or No Money?
Why is 50 percent of the money from the B pool going to the A pool?Shouldn't B pool $ stay in the B pool?
It seems like the A pool is being subsidized by the B pool.

Re: Money or No Money?
I've explained this before, but I'll try again.
This is one league, you're looking at it like it's two separate leagues. Since there is no payout in the B Pool, the money is just for the party. So $100 from each B Pool team dues goes towards that. Don't look at it like 50% gone, look at it like $600 of the money goes towards a end of the year player party for "missing the playoffs."
I hope I explained that ok.

Yes, that does explain why it is done that way.
Thanks Todd, things are looking much better this year. You have definetly put some thought into this and it is appreciated.

Thanks, that means a lot. I love the team challenge and think it's helping to make New England better a disc golf. I just want everything to run smoothly and most importantly everyone to have fun.

Wait a cotton pickin' minute!!! No payout for the B Pool? Does this not include the two teams that bump up or are they then considered A pool?
All this talk about how B pool is no A pool, sure sounds like two different leagues to me...except for the end of the season 2 team swap! More like an AFC, NFC divisions, but with a slightly different arena of talent!
My two cents...Get rid of the idea of "home courses" and create a league where any team can join and have a list of courses that will be used for this league. Teams can be who ever you can get on your team, regardless of where their home course is. Just like any other sports league, minus the course locations. Pick two courses in each "area".
You could have two to three "categories" based on $$ pot. The more $$ the more competitive and the more rewards. Just a thought...may put an end to the leaving teams issue...but I believe that there will always be the trash talking...at least maybe then there will be less whining...
OR you create this league with divisions (think I heard this somewhere on this feed), similar to pro football with a North, South, East and West Divisions. With 4-5 teams in each division. Talk about one league!! Then each division has the chance to be top then go to playoffs/finals whatever.
That's all I have to say! for now...

oh no it starts....lips sealed this year...the players will speak...I highly think you should reconsider this thought process for the overall future of the league....

Re: Money or No Money?
Once again, the money issue was voted on and we have a team fee. We've already done a payout for the B Pool in the past and it didn't work. You guys can feel free to bet with each other, but there will be no part of the team dues that go to a payout. It will be for the players party.
Also, if someone else would like to run a league instead of the B Pool. Feel free.
Titan, contrary to what you think, there has been a lot of thought that has gone into this league. It's ironic that it's only some of the new teams that are complaining. You guys knew what you signed up for (assuming you read the TC Guidelines) and the league has had to adapt due to the new teams. Look at the voting results, the players have spoken.

here's a simple answer for you... if you don't like it, "Don't Play." ... simple really.
