Re: The Streak is over
Whether you like the guy or hate him because he screwed you over and sucked as a JET, its still a very impressive streak. Gotta give the guy props. I doubt either manning will get there. How about his neon purple hand last night. That was just gross....

Props to the Detroit fans that battled the elements to fill the stands. I called my brother over there and he said the roads were like ice rinks, it was 12 degrees and the wind was drifting the snow over the roads.

I agree, the streak was pretty amazing, ..it's just the espn cowtowing that irks me to no end. I look forward to watching sportscenter next week when hopefully espn has officially pounded Farve outta their system. ...maybe all the anchors can gather in the parking lot for one collective cigarette smoking session and be done with it.

The Jets were just dumb enough to let him screw them over. The Packers were smart, offered him $20M to go away and when he wouldnt take it.... C YA!

Re: The Streak is over
A question posed on ESPN 1050 this morning on Mike & Mike:
In their primes, would you rather have Brady or Favre? I have to say Brady. Better leader, fewer mistakes, won't make that killer interception.
I just feel that Favre has been severly over-rated as a QB due to his statistical records.
I'd rather have any one of these guys who won A LOT more championships ... (in no particular order)
Montana
Unitas
Graham
Elway
Bradshaw
Starr
Brady
Staubach
These guys are similar to each other and don't belong with the guys above: Marino, P. Manning, Favre, Young, Kelly
These guys are step below, but could probably have been more reliable than Favre in the big game to not make the big mistake, :
Dawson
Plunkett
Stabler
Aikman
Simms
Warner
Was Favre one of the best of all time ... definitely ... but I'd rather have any one of the guys in the first list on my team to win the Super Bowl (and even some of the guys below him) before I'd want to have him.

6.5 more years from Manning, I bet he beats it. Especially since his style doesn't allow him to get nicked up as often.... and the NFL may go to an 18 game schedule, therefore, he could do it in just over 5 years, he's got atleast that much time left.
He'll beat it and set it. I don't like his silly Peyton face, but I do respect what he does on the field. Plus, he's not an egomaniac.
Brett Favre had a 17 minute press conference last night.. didn't play, didn't have a headset on... 17 minutes. Get off the f'in stage OLD MAN.

Re: The Streak is over
I respect Manning for what he does on the field too and don't want to see him hurt or anyone for that matter. Up until this year, I thought that Peyton was the best QB in the league. I am giving that title to Tom Terrific right now, especially if he wraps up another Patriots Championship. How in the heck does he make Branch and Peacock look so good?
I respect Favre for what he did on the field too. I have nothing but negative feelings for his conduct off the field. For the past 3 years, I have just wanted the 'Old Man' to pack his bags and drift into the sunset. I am NOT going to watch 'Outdoors with Brett Favre' and hope to heck that he does not enter into the announcer business.

As did I, but man the antics over the last few years are just annoying.

Re: The Streak is over
As annoying as Mannings overrun commercials may be, he is a superb athlete and will end up being in the all time great list and has every shot of beating those records.

Manning's commercials may be over-run, but in my opinion he still has one of the best "athlete" SNL's ever. As well as some really funny commercials, the most recent one with the bubble wrap as shoulder pads and thigh pads and the bubble wrap ball are hilarious.

His unicef commercial is one of the few reasons I still respect SNL
