Lunar Eclipse and Winter Equinox

Post by Jeff Wiechowski »

For the first time in 372 years, the winter equinox and a total lunar eclipse happen on the same day, and North America is one of the best spots to view the show. Tuesday morning at 2:40am the lunar eclipse starts and lasts 72 minutes, 21 seconds. 14 hours later the Winter Solstice occurs.
