Bosstones

Post by Jeff Zipkin »

any Bosstones fans here? anyone going to the Hometown Throwdown? I've got tix for the Sunday 12/26 show. Might want to play a course in the area that day. So, any NEFAites who want to huck disc in the day and skank to the Bosstones that night let me know. Heck, I might even need a place to crash ;)

mighty, mighty!

still remember dicky barrett walking around Riverside park at 104Fest back in the day with a handle of vodka in his hand... just right out in the open boozing it up before the concert, mingling with the people in the park. I love that guy :)

The wife and I have tickets for the 28th... This is either my 6th or 7th Throwdown and they've all been such great times. Saw Darkbuster open at the 10th and 12th HT, and Slapshot at the 11th. Slapshot and the Bosstones... Felt like 1991 all over again. Can't wait to see who they play with this year!

MIGHTY MIGHTY!!

Getting closer!

Who else is going on the 26th? Apparently tix are still available...amazingly enough.
I'm coming out from NY and will be hucking disc somewhere in MA that day, meeting up with an old friend for dinner, and then hitting the show. Anyone want to join me for the disc or Bosstones?

Also, and somewhat importantly, can anyone put me up for the night? I realize it's a school/work night (Sun night) and it'll be pretty late...but thought I'd check. Floor space is acceptable.

Traveling league...Sunday league that does just that...travels! New course every sunday...not sure of amount to play...cheap though $5 or $10.

It's usually random doubles. Start time probably 9 or 10 which means you'll be done at a decent hour.

We are going to do double basket doubles on that day! :drunken:

What a SHOW!
as always, the Bosstones killed.
even the weather wasn't enough to dampen ppl's spirits and Dicky seemed genuinely appreciative that everyone came out.
setlist was fantastic...heard almost everything i hoped for.

obviously no disc yesterday, and even the Cambridge Brew Pub, which I had hoped to check out, was closed. (pussies)

i strongly recommend checking out one of these shows. and btw, the house of blues is an amazing venue. very impressed. thx for the hospitality boston.

Wife and I had a great time last night... The Santa/Blanta backdrop was ridiculous.

Set was pretty heavily weighted towards new stuff, which is still good, but... I'd much
rather hear all the old school Bosstones so I can re-live my high school and college days.

Oh, and Less Than Jake is not that good. Stop jumping up and down on my feet, guy in
front of me.

glad you enjoyed pete. the old men can still throwdown, huh?
yeah, loved the backdrop. didn't want to spoil it for ya so i kept my mouth shut.

i didn't feel sunday's setlist was weighted to the newer stuff. had plenty of old skool stuff to keep me happy. glad i got my dr d, someday i suppose, and kinder words. also loved simmer down, toxic toast, and devil's night out.

glad Less Than Jake wasn't sunday's opener...they blow. sunday was the FUs.
