Looks like the course is very playable unlike most of the courses in MA.
You guys don't have enough snow. Want some?

Re: Frostbite Dragon Doubles - 1/29/11
Most fairways are plowed, actually. Well, plowed down to a couple inches. Anything that isn't plowed (and some that has been) has been dragged and packed with an ATV and/or a snowmobile. The goal is that shots in the fairway don't get buried/lost, and walking is easy.
We've got plenty of snow, Matt, thanks. Not quite as much as you guys, but way more than we want. I'm going to see to it that anyone coming up from out of state takes some snow with them when they leave. Even if I have to sneak it into their bags when they're not looking.

See, this is why we put the note at the bottom of the flyer...so everyone would know we have some of the best winter disc golf conditions in New England regardless of how much snow falls.

Sounds like we should have a strong Pro division tomorrow. Among the rumored teams:
Kozaka and Bouffard (defending champs)
Conant and Garyl
Beefy and DC
Cass and Mallar
KRE and Connell
Brooks and Dow
LeClair and Bourque

It was quite a battle all round long. We made up the two stroke deficit in the first four holes of round 2 (2-2-2-2, they went 3-2-2-3). They deuced 7 to get the lead back, but we tied it back up with a deuce on 8. We took the lead with a deuce on 10, but they tied it up with a deuce on 11. They took the lead back by deucing 14 and held it until 18. Their drive was about 35 out and Bourque just missed his attempt (off the front) that would have iced it. I hit a 20 footer to get the deuce and force the playoff.
We went to hole one to begin the playoff. KRE took the box first, and his drive skipped up and hit the basket. Conant had the front row view and said the disc hit a nub...an inch higher and it would have been in. LeClair's drive was about 25 feet away and his turbo putt chained out. KRE dropped in for the deuce and that was that.
It was a great day all around. Everyone seemed to be having fun whether they were shooting well or not. For those that missed out on the fun, we've got another doubles tournament at Dragan on Feb 26. Not NEFA Dubz or anything, but the exact same format and hopefully even better course conditions.

Re: Frostbite Dragon Doubles - 1/29/11
I'd just like to add that the course conditions at Dragan Field were just incredible for the amount of snow we've had. We're not talking about a convenient 1-snowmobile-width path to walk down the fairway - most fairways were packed and groomed from edge to edge. No idea how it was done, but it must have been a lot of work. It was really nice at the end of the day not to be totally exhausted from trudging through knee-deep snow.
Kudos to Josh and crew for a fantastic job making the course very easily playable. Well worth the trip if you want to play but don't want to trudge.
