Long range putter
What are some discs people are using for long range putts. I use a Vibram Ridge for my go to putter, but i feel like the thing just goes and sinks when putting outside of my comfort zone. Is there any putters out there that float real well for longer putts?

Re: Long range putter
I've drained many a 70-80 footer with my jk pro aviar, it's got a ton of glide.
for an open field 100+foot shot, I usually backhand my vp, it doesn't ever go past the basket because of the low glide, and if thrown with a slight air bounce it drops straight down.
I've also heard the XD works really well for a lot of people who are looking for a little extra range on their putts.

Re: Long range putter
I was using a Discraft Rattler for long putts, until the weather turned and it broke. The DX plastic and the shape of the Rattler added to it's crackability factor. For me it really sailed farther than the Discraft Focus. Now I use a Champion Mako for long putts.
Practice with purpose.

Re: Long range putter
I started last summer using my Star Mako for putts in any amount of wind and my longer putts. I would guess because it is 180g that the extra weight allows me to put a little more snap on it. Now I use it for more putts than my Aviar. My .02 Hit 3 or 4 nice putts with it this morning.

outside the cirlce? its usually an XD. the flight of an XD really allows you to go straight at it. it's just useless in the wind. one bad gust and your looking at +40' from the other side of the basket.
really digging my x soft challengers for all-round putting duties.

That sinking is a good thing IMO. I like a putter with a pretty quick drop rate so you can commit to a run at the basket and know it's not going to go sailing too far past should you miss a little high. You do that with an xd and you are looking at a longer putt on the other side of the basket.
I use a challenger a good mix of stability, glide and drop rate. Any putter with a bead should do the job tho (ridge, vp, challenger, bb aviar, wizard are good choices).

KC Pro Aviar. Good Glide real predicatable. XD has even better glide but like others have said if it's windy it going for a ride.

Try a Firm Summit for longer putts, holds a nice line.

Re: Long range putter
I use a 150g DX Goblin. I'd use a 150g Summit if I could get one.
Cheers & chings!

Re: Long range putter
Classic Roc is a great long range putt & approach disc that is very reliable and will hold any line with the right touch.
