Crane Hill Upgrade-- Your Assistance Needed!

We are applying for Community Preservation Act funding to bring much needed tee pads to the Crane Hill disc golf course in Wilbraham,
MA, along with other improvements such as new tee signs. One of the requests in the application for funding, is evidence of support of users/beneficiaries of any given project. Therefore, for all of you who play and appreciate Crane Hill, letters and emails of support would be very helpful. I can then put together a bunch of them and submit them along with the application.

The deadline for application submission is January 27, 2011.

Thank you for heading this up Davis. I will be sending you my letter in the next few days and I will let everyone I see playing Crane know about this needed effort.

May it be helpful to post something on the "bulletin board" at tee 1? I'm not sure that everyone who plays Crane is active on NEFA. Nice par on 3 as you played through us on Saturday... only guy I know who makes par there after yanking a flick into the woods on the left with 6 spectators. It must have been the slippery tee pad .

Is there any update on this effort? I assume the committee is in deliberation on all submitted proposals. Davis, will you have the opportunity to appear in front of the committee on behalf of this project? If so, and the public is welcome, I would be willing to attend in support of this, as I'm sure many other locals to Crane would be also. Let us know the status of this and whether or not there is more we (I) can do. I hope you received more letters/emails than you knew what to do with. Thanks again for all your work and dedication to Crane.

Here is your answer...

First, thanks to all who responded with letters and emails! I received close to a dozen that were submitted along with the CPA application for tees and signs at Crane Hill. I think the articulate and passionate enthusiasm of the writers must have made quite an impression on the committee.

The good news is I have received word today that the CPA committee seems inclined to support our application for new tees and signage.
It's not in the bank yet, but the news I'm getting is encouraging. The committee will be holding a meeting regarding our application
at the Wilbraham Town Offices, Thursday, February 17 at 7:00 to discuss the application. It would be great to have supporters of Crane Hill
in attendance. In particular, a strong showing of Wilbraham residents in support would be helpful-- especially since I'm an out of towner from next door Monson. But any supporters of disc golf who can make it would be most welcome.
