my 235 lb body was post-holing thru some deep snow in a couple spots today.
Soooooooo, bring an extra pair of sox if you can. Maybe some Gators. Maybe yaktrax, which are ok, but Strands Ski Shop has some sweet studs for your shoes/boots you can pull right over your shoes. Maybe extra shoes or boots.

Course was fun as hell, at least the holes I played today.

People bring baskets, it's wayyyyyy cooler to have extras than one short. Did I mention that the course was fun as hell and Stephen, Nicholas and George, as well as the other Economos family have done lots of work to make this a great bash.

You know I'll be there bright and early at the trough filling my belly and doing yoga. I've been practicing this new pose, the hurling broken disc golfer. I've almost perfected it.

Jason is signed up to play. Did I mention maybe to bring extra sox?? and to CARPOOL.

Yep, CARPOOOLIO.
Jerel wins it, by 2.

I've seen people drop out of tournies last minute because it was to cold, to hot, to wet and to much snow. Wonder who on the list is going to stay home today because it's to WINDY  See you there.

Thanks Steve George Nick and everyone else who contributed. What a great job putting together the course.

 Brain storm from someone in my group in the first round: Tourney in the summer where you throw your drives to and from the islands and then swim down the fairway and putt on the land? (and carry your discs in your teeth of course.)

Only paid out 15% or so in pro is low also. Wish I could have been there, but to encourage ams stepping up to play pro, I hope more TDs pay a bit deeper. At least 30% seems right.

Nice win Stands with...

Its kinda weird you say that about tds paying more in pro to step up the ams, cause ive seen a lot of the field in pro yesterday play in the am div. recently. if ten players had been pd yesterday, tenth place would have won, what, ten bucks. is that what inspires players to improve their game? i personally do not play golf to win money at this point. I do however play am1 every tourney, with hopes of placing first. I have been playing for six months, and my love of the game is greatly strengthened by improvement. I have cashed in seven tourneys. Five of them i have donated back the money and the other two i gave to my sons who also play and love the game. I love and appreciate when a td pairs am with pro, so i can learn and challenge myself against pro ability. That may be a little selfish, because in reverse, a pro playing with an am could step down their game. However, I will definitely play in the pro div. as soon as i think i can play well enough to not discourage my love of this game by seeing my name at the bottom of the pro list. Maybe next time you'll play pro and take it down..
Respectfully,
George Economos

It took all of 2 throws to realize that I couldn’t play. After I withdrew I went to the car to leave, sitting there for 10 min. But the addict in me needed to get his fix. I just needed to see some discs fly. Hopefully the annoying spectator that I am, didn’t take anybody to far off their game!

Such an interesting course designed on the pond. It reminded me of the famous Canoe hole back in the days of the Frozen Fruits.
It was great to watch Mike shot what was really a mistake free first round. Even better was watching him hang tough after NEFA’s #1 Amature put the charge on and erased the 3 shot lead and even pulled ahead with a hot run of 2’s to start the second round.

Seeing many people I’ve not seen in weeks was also a huge plus as I was standing around freezing.

But best of all, I think it’s great to see some new people take on the challenge of running a tournament (which is never easy).

So sorry I missed it,…but really,…I didn’t.

I miss throwing and hope to do so again soon.

Great win Mike!

Nice job George E. and all your crew that put this on. I hope you do it again next year. I was really looking forward to playing on a frozen pond.

I'd like to thank the entire Economos Family for their unbelievable hospitality yesterday. I thought the course was a lot of fun and the food spread was outstanding. I can truly appreciate the amount of work it must have taken to pull it all together.

Special thanks to Gary Cyr for spotting all day and generally helping me stay on track. Although, it was funny to watch him walk up ahead as he got deep into his second 2 liter of Grenades:)

I felt pretty lucky to get to play with Billy, Jason, and Aaron in the final round. Thank you boys!

Billy, thanks for letting this old man have his one shining moment....

Outstanding effort Economos Family. Steve, great job and way to step up and make it happen, with some stellar support from Mom and Dad and brother Nick and the tall guy with the mustache who helped with the cooking. Isn't it mind-boggling how much there is to do when you run a tournament?

And when you add an excellent breakfast spread that lasted through lunch! Everyone who came could see that your main goal was to show everyone a great time. Fascinating, challenging course with disaster lurking everywhere. We'll be talking about it for years.

Mike Andrews, way to "ice" the victory, ha ha.

It was a special day, with special hosts. Thank you thank you thank you.

What a fun day (even if I played horrible)! I did however throw my furthest drive ever (~700 ft)thanks to the wind/ice combo.. too bad it was in the wrong direction.

Thanks Economos family!! Great job!

Thanks Michelle for the new shoes after falling through the ice and Congrats to all the winners!

To the entire Economos family, what a fantastic tournament you ran this past weekend. Every person was smiling and having a good time.
To Rachel and George, great job with the kids. They seem to have turned out to be awesome kids. Responsible, intelligent and super nice. However you've done it, for all these years, you've done a terrific job. It showed in how this disc golf tournament was run. Fun, fun, and great food. 8-)
It was sooo cool seeing several players I've missed over the past few years. Then getting to play with Matt B and Jerel and George was awesome. Man did the wind, I mean, man did I blow. Fun nonetheless.
Great win Mr.Andrews :D

....and in some pretty adverse conditions I'll have to say.....

A dude in our group had his disc roll like 600' away. Cuckoo-kachu. I got a grey hair just watching it
