Wolfe Woods in Warwick

Post by Jeannie Helseth »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey Everybody!

The Skylands Flying Disc Club will be channeling our efforts into the completion of Wolfe Woods.
The course is well on its way to being tamed, and this goal can easily be accomplished with the help of our fellow golfers. Everyone that golfs and helps out at the Animal Course, Wolfe Woods, Campgaw or Buzzy's is part of the Skylands Flying Disc Club.
As we all can see, the Animal Course never looked better, and we have that course known as Campgaw in our backyard, all within >1 years time. Not to even mention, we pulled off an NT event that included in the likes of Climo & Fats--and our Website. AWESOME!!! This was done with a handful of people!!!! We've come a long way!!
We need your help. Our goal is to have this course well trampled in this summer, and add to the uniqueness of Town Park-not only a course with permanent long and short baskets, but another equally challenging course right next to it.
We are setting the Gold Standard on how to create World Class courses, and Wolfe right now is a diamond in the rough. Once we achieve this goal, we will also be opening up an Adopt-A Hole deal, like we did this year on the Animal course.
Come be a part of something special-if you only have an hour or two, that's that much closer. Thanks to all that have gotten us this close!
This course is being created in the memory of Scott Wolfe, a disc golfer that put his all into the Animal course.
Look to this site for workdays--hopefully we will have a good turnout.

This Saturday, November 12 we are having a workday. If we can get enough people out there we will have 14 holes done. With the workday we had last weekend and tomorrows workday, the course will be looking GREAT! Please come on down and give us a hand. Work for a few hours and then play some golf at Warwick. Every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

Jeannie, WOW we posted at the same time (different, but new threads...see Waveny Park).

I know you probably forgot :) to mention your main reason for posting today.....
Tomorrow, Saturday November 12th is a WORKDAY!

Some very cool things will be going on tomorrow. Planting and moving some baskets will be our priority. HAVE WE GOTTEN THE NEW BASKETS FROM DAN YET?

By the end of the day a great 14 hole loop will be complete for your playing pleasure. No more getting lost and wondering where the next hole is. These 14 holes will be easily accessible and very playable. How cool!

For more information and other discussion about this see:

Ooops, I almost forgot, FREE LUNCH will be provided tomorrow and every workday...so try to show up before 12 so we know how much food to order!

The club just sank 36 tee posts and re-did all the tees. Removed the slippery flypads and installed stonedust with toe-boards. Come check it out.
