One of the responsibilities of each PDGA State Coordinator is to select a disc golfer to represent her state at the United States Disc Golf Championships (USDGC) held each October in Rock Hill, SC. As the MA State Coordinator, I have selected Greg Aucoin from Southbridge, MA.
Greg is a rising star in the New England disc golf scene and finished last year as the number 1 ranked Advanced player in the NEFA points series. With his 951 PDGA rating (sure to go up next week with the ratings update) and a number of strong Pro Open finishes already in this young season, Greg will no doubt continue to do well.
Besides being a skilled player, Greg is what all disc golfers should strive to be: positive, encouraging, always laughing, and an all around good guy. It doesn't hurt that he is also a walking encyclopedia when it comes to every disc and handcrafted beer ever made! Please join me in congratulating Greg and wishing him good luck. I know you'll represent Massachusetts well!
