ok, so it's technically your foot- your rear foot. on a backhand throw it's the leg you're pushing with. I've heard a lot of pointers and suggestions in the last 2+ years, but this one was definitely the most "Eureka!"-enducing one.
it's really just part of the natural follow through of a frisbee throw, but 20 years of baseball just confused my muscle memory since you're pushing off on a different leg. anyway, long story short- once I started lifting my foot and allowing my front foot to pivot and carry a full follow through- I finally started throwing my distance drivers a decent distance and flat/level.
in retrospect I can actually remember "feeling" that the end of my throws weren't right but I'd always just let my knees bend and hips twist extra to absorb the spin- not a great habit but I didn't realize I was doing it...
now I want to go empty my bag on hole 9 pye brook.
Don't forget to lift your leg...
