Re: Shoe Suggestions
i know you are asking for a boot but here is a thought for you...
for everyday disc golf use (besides freezing cold) i use an indoor soccer cleat. if you were to get a pair i would suggest getting the ones with rubber nubs on the bottom (made for gripping the turf but work very well on any disc golf surface.
they are semi waterproof. but can be sprayed to be made water proof. lightweight. better toe protection that an average sneaker.
my personal selection: Total 90's with turf grips. i have been using them for 5 years now (3 soccer, 2 disc) and have not complained once. until the back heal ripped last month....which i gorilla glued

Re: Shoe Suggestions
tried a bunch of different shoes in the last week, and nothing fit quite like the salomon xa3s ... went to REI today and the pros were on-sale for $80, while the GTX were $140 ... bought them both as an early chanukah present to myself along with the membership ... if they fail for any reason, I'll return them for a new pair or a refund, but hopefully that won't happen any time soon ...

I have had the Milos now for close to a year...falling apart! Very disappointed in Keen...they can make a much better shoe!

The milo iis are built better James. I have the second edition, I'll show them to you. I have seen your shoe, and theses new ones are superior. They must have done the market research on the first version.

Let's see how much "better" they are after the same amount of use that the Judge has put into his Milo I's...
It's disc golf. All shoes in this sport will take a beating and eventually break down, I have gone through just about every type/brand of shoe out there...
Keen, Merrell, Nike, Salamon, $10 specials from Walmart, New Balance...
waterproof, breathable, different soles, different toeboxes, different quality of products, $10 shoes, to $150 shoes.
eventually. they break down. nuff said.
I like the Keen Obsidians I am rocking now.. similar to the Milo II's... essentially a trail runner like the Milo's with a better color scheme in my opinion.

Re: Shoe Suggestions
How about 2 pair of shoes? One for practice and one for tournament. I drag my right toe every time I crush a drive soo I MOD my practice shoe. Now I can barely destroy my practice shoe and there lasting me more time.
Anyone want's to know how to protect there shoes?
Googgle it and click images it's called pitchers toe or pitchers toe guard.

I saw that modification you made to your shoe. Pretty clever, and looks like that thing isn't going to be wearing through any time soon!

Re: Shoe Suggestions
I have had these for 2.5 years and they are still holding up well.http://www.keenfootwear.com/product/fw1 ... ad/targhee
There is some stuff Think its shoe goo or something like that that works great its for Sole repairs but if you coat the spot that toe draggers rip up it works real good and you can peel it off when you dont want it there.
