WHY are players scared of $$$????

I understand the whole AM for life..I really do..and the scholarships ect ect...

I have heard from many players...rather frequent in the past 2 years..."I don't wanna take cash cuz then I can't go to worlds"

These players are aspiring Pros and have talent to compete at least regionally to some degree..not the AM for lifers and college dealy players

Its kinda false...for 1 ya can go to pro worlds..and lets face it ya gotta be 1000 rated to win AM worlds so why not go and take a chance being carded with the big gun prob have more fun...and for 2 I am pretty sure a 935 under player or higher that accepts cash could write a simple letter and get exemption...and if not who cares

It almost seems to undermine competitive golf...people have no moral battle when its not PDGA so that tells me it has a direct link to them...not an anti PDGA post...just seems strange to me....

I now stopped caring about the field or winning..it has helped my game...seemed to always worry about the "am 2 bagger" now I know its gonna be a spanking so I just play the course tough

I guess that is all

If it's because of retaining Am status, you can always decline cash that you might win...... And if you ask nicely, some TDs will even substitute merchandise for the $$$. :wink:

And the biggest perk for playing pro BY FAR is the fact that you won't be starting at the furthest hole from tourney central.

Ther wasnt a 1000 rated player at AM Worlds this year. In fact, I believe the winner was rated 964. And why go to pro Worlds to have a chance to play a round with some big name. Seems expensive for one round and a chance. And youre pretty sure you can get a letter of exemption???? Whats makes you think that? This thread is just a bunch of crap taken from the World according to Titan. I want to go back this coming year because I had a blast up in Rochester. You might have to if you could learn to go 3 hours at a time without having a cig. BTW, that was a stupid reason not to attend. Its kinda like refusing to sign up for the PDGA and pay an extra $10 everytime.
