Not sure where to go with this one...
I'm looking for a site or forum to help ID an old disc, maybe '60s or '70s, not sure. If this is the place, let me know. If there is an existing place I should be going, then flame on. I can take it...
Yes, I will obviously give a better explanation and images if this is the place...

Re: Disc identification help
Not happy. I previewed my first reply, then closed the window without actually submitting it. The second attempt was submitted, but hasn't appeared yet. Not sure if it needs to be approved because there is a link??
Anyway, here is the link to pix to get you started, I'll fill in the details if this works.

Re: Disc identification help
Bah, so I must have done something wrong both the first and second times. I hate technology.
Here goes again...
Weight: roughly 100g
Diameter: 23.0cm
Outer cupola: 7.3cm
Inner cupola: 2.4cm
Height: 3.0cm
Color: red
Only markings are in outer cupola on underside, "MADE IN USA" and "4" in wicked small print. Got it in about 1996, feels old but might not be. Closest I can figure it is similar to either Cossom or IFO Flying Saucer from Stancil's book based on dimensions and description. But maybe junk from 1995.

Re: Disc identification help
It's not immediately ringing any bells. I took a quick look in several likely boxes of similar discs but nothing so far. I even did a database search for all of my mold 4 discs but nothing close there.
It's easier to say what it's not because most discs have something more specific to ID them...like a Cosom with its swirly textured pattern on top. It's similar to a Zo-Lar but it's not that.
For now, my best guess is it's one of a long line of anonymous, undateable Pluto Platter style knock-offs that remain unidentifiable. Many of those don't say Made in USA and probably had Asian births.
If I can come up with more, I'll post on this thread.

Re: Disc identification help
Cool, thanks for looking into it Phil! I look forward to hearing back if you come up with something.
As a side note, I missed out what has happened to Victor over the past 13 years or so, since his book. It looks like he sold all or most of his collection? Is he OK?

As Victor himself has publicly revealed, he's had trouble job-wise with resulting financial woes, but he's still his old feisty self!
