Borderland Work Day - May 7th

Post by Rob Tatro »

Hi there everyone, hope your getting psyched for this years Spring Fling :flower:

The Borderland Disc Golf Committee would like to invite everyone willing and able to participate in our work day that we will be hosting on Saturday, May 7th starting at 9:00 by the Kiosk. Sorry for the late posting but I've been in contact with Dave Mchale and wanted to wait until his tourney filled before posting this announcement.

There is plenty of work that needs to be done in preparation for this years Spring Fling. The course has seen some major improvements over the past few weeks including the addition of some new baskets and tee boxes. There are only a few more baskets that we need to put in and a handful of tee boxes that need to be completed in order for us to finish all of the major construction work on the course. Besides that, routine maintenence is needed on the already installed tee boxes as well as some clearing from all of our winter storms.

All work day participants will receive one of our new Borderland Disc Golf hats along with a great cookout lunch and a heartfelt thank you for your service.

Please R.S.V.P. to rob@borderlanddiscgolf.com or reply here so that we can get a handle on how many will be able to attend.

Your hard work would be greatly appreciated ... hope to see you there :thumleft:

Yes, we are still on for a workday tomorrow ... allbeit an abbreviated one (friggin' rain )

Dean has been a horse this week finishing the installation of all the baskets, we are now a complete 36 basket course (at least when I was there last night it was looking that way?)

Our focus will be on at least getting the tee boxes to 18, 12, and 11 done (they are in desperate need of being finished before the tournament) and some dragging around some of the new pin positions. The more hands we have, the less time it will take, and we will be deeply endebted to you for your help.

We may not be able to finish all of the work that we had planned to by the Fling but we sure are going to try darnit :rambo:

By the way, I'm still up for hosting some hold 'em at my place Saturday night if anyone is interested ... let me know

Huge thanks to Rich Gunther, Matt Stroika, Mike Dussault, Scooter Feely, Ken Niu, Matt Jemison, and Brian Bowe for braving the driving rain and wind to help out on Saturday.

We were able to finish 5 more tee pads with timbers and stonedust (which compacts nicely in the rain). This leaves only a couple of holes that don't have new tee pads. We will be hosting an informal work day Wednesday afternoon (tomorrow) 3:30 until 8:00 to hopefully finish off those holes and to do some much needed tee pad maintenence on the other holes. If you are available, we'd love to have the extra hands :)

Hope to see you Wednesday
