Mine too.

Got several Aces with that discs and now have three of them in collection.

Switched over to the Buzzz lines. It flies similar to me.

They (Innova) screwed up on plastic molds after attempting remolding 2nd run glow champ. cobra few years back. It now came out all domey.

It sucks to find old flat-top champ. cobra for reasonable prices now days!

recently picked up an older cobra, dx- and love it
are they all this easy to control?
with practically no power, i can put it on a line downhill and it'll hold it
just real easy to control

are they like that out of the box or is this one real broken in? (it's not beat up, and doesn't have hunks of plastic missing)

if i picked up another dx, could i expect similar results?

don't know the weight...
i might pick up another vintage(ish) one on ebay- the kind that says "Innova Champion Discs" even though it's not champion, since champion wasn't champion yet...

The innova factory store Champ Cobras are decent. They aren't as flat as the original flat tops from years ago- a friend had an older one and we compared them- they aren't bad though. I may order another just to see, but their description on the factory store mentions that they're supposed to be flat topped. Either way they're much flatter than the tournament stamped Star Cobras.

either i was dreaming that they said this- or they changed it, because it's not there. most likely i was dreaming... i really thought i read the phrase "old flat topped" but that's probably all i WANTED...

i think i'll try the boiling water/cookie sheet technique tonight, even though it's champion, not DX, so it probably won't be as responsive to it.

The original description did say they were the flat top cobras. They must have edited it after getting negative feedback. Apparently these are a test run before they actually go live with them in the spring. I would leave feedback on their site letting them know you're unhappy with the flatness, I did.

They fly nice, but definitely don't feel the same as the originals.

The facory store also had "mystery firebirds" for sale that they believed were 11x, so I ordered a bunch -- definitely NOT 11x, so I would be careful ordering from that site. My hunch is that Innova is trying to come up with creative ways to get rid of bad runs, at the expense of the buyer.

I threw it today. It flies mint. I never threw the old ones so i cant compare them but this thing flew straight as an arrow with little fade. It is very slow and takes its time getting where its going but it gets there straight.

I am ordering a 2nd one.

glad i didn't dream that. but it makes me pissed they changed it. they're a frustrating company- i'm not about to stop throwing innova, but i'm not about to stop bad-mouthing them either. they're just out to make a buck, plain and simple.

i ordered some of those FB...mine are almost exactly like my super flat glo FB, just not in glo plastic. I compared it to my 11x FB and while they might not be exactly the same they do fly very similar to me. guess i just got a couple good ones from the pic

I also love my champ cobra off the site. While it might not be flat like the old ones, it does fly very nice.

Yea i agree about the nice flight, but I just don't think the plastic is the same quality. Could be just me, although I ordered 10 and none of them feel like my 11x.
