Charlestown NH; Ct. River Valley DGC ???

Post by BungalowBill »

Was googling around while in Ohio for courses and somehow got this result:

There is apparently a course in Charlestown, NH that is not listed in the PDGA directory. They call themselves "Connecticut River Vally DGC" or something like that.

If there is anyone here who is local and wouldn't mind showing a noob the course I'd love to get down there before the snow flies.

And if you're ever in Columbus, OH be sure to check out the Hoover Dam course - 27 holes of open fields and well-cleared & tight woods - tons of fun :D . Griggs Reservoir was also pretty good but very busy & slow.

Just called them up and the phone is disconnected so I guess this place is dead.

Would still like to hear from someone who knows though...

Don't know what the deal is with the course now as far as open/closed, etc, but here's what I do know: the course was started last summer/fall and the baskets that they used are Dragan Field's old Mach 2s. At least one of the guys involved with the course used to live around here and play DF on a regular basis, so that's the connection. Bob even went down there a few times to help them with design...he probably can answer more questions as far as where the course is and what it's like. But since the listed phone number is disconnected, it doesn't sound like they got very far off the ground with it.
