I think part of it is the phenomenon of no tone/ no ability to tell when people are joking. (Like Dmack said elsewhere). the other part tho is the truth hurts so people get defensive and sad.

This may be a good time to say that I am never being serious on here and never actually get offended by anything anyone says.
I ASSUME that others feel the same way, so to me these "arguments" and "internet confrontations" are just a way to blow off steam and laugh. If I'm wrong in this assumption, that makes you all uptight arses that take yourselves waaaay too seriously (If this offends you, please re-read the first sentence of my post). This has been my first year playing this TC, and I have honestly liked it. Great reason to go out and play courses I've never been to. I must say that the Dam Course in Royalston, MA was one of the most beautiful places I've played in New England since moving up here! The people have been real cool as well, and I'm actually looking forward to meeting and playing against Tolland no matter WHAT their record or WHERE we play, just because I like playing better players! How else do you improve in this game?

However, IMHO I think that a system is only as good as the rules and the players. Yet over the course of SEVERAL threads, there have been countless questions about rules and scenarios. On any given day, there seems to be several ambiguous answers, and several misinterpretations of the rules and scenarios. I think the ambiguity and assumptions have been partly to blame for the debates. So you have some teams that have one read on something, and play their season that way. Others read it a different way, and so they play their season under that premiss. The decisions being discussed on these boards that may contradict or be unclear to any party are sure to cause some "lively discussion". Additionally, this is a LONG winter TC when you consider that you play just 1 match a month. While I'm having a blast, I'm damn sure ready to be done for the winter and get back to playing tourney golf ASAP!

I also want to be clear that in no way am I discrediting the work put in by Todd, who I don't even know, who has been refereeing this whole group while working with the rules and regulations he was given. I've run leagues and tournaments before, and the best part about TD'ing anything is when it's finally all over. Your gonna have SOMETHING go wacky, it's inevitable. The best thing to do is take note of it, and make the adjustments for next year. So thanks for this year Todd, you must have broad shoulders to handle this whole group!

It's been a fun season, and no doubt the finals will be fun as well....... when they're over! LOL!

Busy time of year. Going to Virigina team invitional this weekend got fdr than a TC. T 54 didn't make the cut. VTI is the way team challenges need to be here in nefa. IMO one of the best weekends of golf every year
