New Forum

Post by Todd Lapham »

Ok the new forum is basically good to go. It will obviously still need some tweaking and whatnot, but the general foundation is there.

It costs $20 a month (plus tax), or $254 a year, I prepaid for the first year.

Now obviously I'd prefer not to have to foot this bill by myself.

I was thinking something like:

A. $2 a person per year to be able to post on the forum, with any extra money being applied to next years cost. This is better for people not on a team or for people that don't post on a forum.

B. Each team pays it's share. So 254/# of teams= Each teams dues. Captains would collect the appropriate amount depending on number of players on team. This is better for active users.

Thanks,

-Todd

why not both?

teams pay up to have the use of a forum, and those of us not on a team who just want to 'spectate' have a pay-in option or donation.

Just bump up the team fee a flat amount and let the captains figure out the split per person. Todd you know you shouldn't put these things to a vote - just an excuse for drama LOL ...

I dont see how we could do it team by team as we dont know how many teams will be in until the last minute.

Also, not all team my members want access. They just want to know where and when to be there, I will let them know that right here on the NEFA forum.

Don't know why that would be a problem. Todd paid for the year already. Once number of teams is determined, it would get divided evenly to each team. Then its up to the team how to split it up, but I would think it would be included in team dues.

Teams join and drop out like you change your socks.

Besides, all the onlookers can pay to see the drama unfold. It will be like a daytime soap: "As the disc spins" will be a huge hit and we wanna get paid for our work.

Make em all pay!!!

Have the teams pay the way, but also have a pay to view option. I think Aubin mentioned that earlier. That would work.

$2 Mandatory fee for each player participating in Team Challenge. Any spectator/extra money should be put towards payout at the end of the season. Split to both pools. All 12 bucks!

Great ideas guys. We'll figure it out for sure, not really in any big rush to be honest.

NewEnglandTeamChallenge.com is the new forum. It's all set to go (as far as I can tell!). Please register and take a look and let me know what I need to add or whatever.

Thanks.

Not sure if we can move any of the team challenge history from here or not. Would you want to move the team challenge section to the new site?

Only way to do that is to save a backup copy of the current NEFA forum and then install it into the new site. Then somone has to go thru the forum and delete the all the NEFA tourney stuff and reaggange the sub-topic areas back to what they've setup already. Also need to go thru member list and remove everyone not on a team because the backup file would bring ALL the users account info over too.

BIG headache, IMO......
