Tully!

Post by James Sweat »

So a few members of the Backnein crew snuck out of Vermont yesterday and played Tully... Wow! Great job guys! Fantastic course! You could really tell there's alot of committed player in the area. Everything from the tee boxes to trails, and stair cases were beautiful. Even got a close up view of a porkypine! Great work, can't wait to go back!

Played a round there yesterday for the first time in well over a year. The course looks fantastic!
The tees are all superb, the baskets are all at normal heights, and I saw essentially no trash while I was out.

Kudos to everyone keeping the course in great shape! I'll be up there a bunch more this season for sure!

I hate to disagree.

The #9 basket are bit too short. :(

I think two or three other baskets are also short too. I think its #2, #13, and #16 but I could be wrong anyway. :?

naw 9 is low cuz they filled up around the green with stonedust(rangers)..just appears low

the other are a lil tweaked cuz they had to be cut..thus leaving the bottom chain circle a lil above base of pole creating a chance for disc to pop back at ya..it happens often..

all the more reason to just put them in correctly from start no need to jerry rig em after..messing them up foreva

when ya cut pole it also makes larger chain area to hit...from top of cage to yellow band...

so peeps when putting in baskets get help if ya don't know whats up..it will save peeps that do know lots of time fixing them if they even can be

Naw Patrick, the baskets aren't low you're just tall  .

As for the "SSA" for the course, it'll end up being pretty high (higher than it should be really rated if enough different rated pools of data were used) because, um let's see...temps from the high teens down to zero, slippery snow around the place, and 20-30mph winds. Nobody cracks 50.

You sure about that Karl? I heard Geoff Bennett, Troy Manni and Brian Harrington will be in attendance. I'm guessing one of them will give it a run.

Arty,

Of course I'm not sure - I'm just guessing. But if the winds / cold is as much as projected, a card-par 6 down will be wicked excellent play. I know that I (who has a tendency to be rational  and not over-inflated / exhuberant), if those are the conditions, would not be unhappy one bit with a pair of 56's.

OK, I was wrong. Tully is carded as a par-57 (thought it was a par-56). Would've thought a windy, cold day at Tully would've produced a SSA around 51. Turns out (I think?) that a not-so-windy, not-so-cold day at Tully produced a SSA about 54. Guess she has some teeth afterall. But that SSA goes down bigtime next tournament as I don't feel a 54 is normally a really good round there (i.e. what's called a 1000-rated round)...there just seems to be too many birdie possibilities to be offset with the occasional bogie. But a really great course in ANY weather!

I was wrong too, Karl. I wasn't planning on Bennett and Harrington not showing up. I also thought Titan was going to have those teepads in tip top shape.

The cold temps just made it impossible to get last layer of snow/ice off...

Lost a Aqua Cryztal Z Buzzz SS with a Statue of Liberty stamp in the water on hole 1, about 50 feet to the left and short of pin high off shore. This disc has my name and number and a bunch of others from my ace on hole 12 @ Noho. I would really really really really really really love to get this back...for a slew of obvious reasons. Until then, I will have to learn to do things while my fingers are kept crossed.
