"Located in sunrise park in a large field. There are five baskets configured to get 9 holes out of them. Technically the park is for residents only but people are rarely hassled."

Says concrete tees and Chainstars. Anyone ever been there?

That park is in West Suffield a few miles west of Suffield center on Rt 168 (heading toward that notch in the top of CT called Southwick, MA. I used to trail run up there a lot. The course must be new. Interesting. Can't hurt!

i checked this place out, since it's right down from the new houses i'm working on. the course has 4 brand new innova baskets, placed on the outside edges of a 6 acre field. there is a great course map/sign at the entrance to the field, the tee pads are 16"x16" cement markers. since the layout has you shooting off the same tee a couple time, each tee is marked with a number and arrow to show you what basket to shoot for. other then three shots that shoot around large pricker bushes, that protrude into the field, most shots are open. the longest of holes shoots diagonal, uphill across the field. the shortest being the first and 8Th, probably around 120' each.

it's a great little course to work on form and approaching. i don't think it was designed for the diehard disc golfer, but instead more for town locals to have something else to do at a town park.

this park has some serious DG potential! huge! i'll take some pics next week, when go back to work up there.

This was/is an Eagle/Boy scout project. Carls (Mattiolis buddy) nephew did it. Me and Mourad met w/him and his mom to look at/into layout. There is HUGE potential at this park!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a foot in the door and w/some effort/interset something amazing can grow out if this. Good job Carls nephew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Played there for the 1st (only!) time 2 days ago. A few things...

1. Does have posted signs about 'residents' but I went with one, parked, no one else there, played, still no one else there, etc. I'm figuring if you're respectful of Suffield's property they won't mind an occasional 'drop in and play' by a foreigner.
2. Not a bad set up for using only 4 baskets.
3. Couldn't hold anything more than maybe a few groups (and even they'd have to be cognizant of where the others are).
4. But 3 above wouldn't be a big problem because on any 1 hole all the other holes can totally be seen.
5. A mix of birdie-or-die holes and one that will test your power (444 uphill to a protected pin).
6. You'll probably have it to yourself.
7. Shot a 222233322 = 21.
8. There may be a 19 there somewhere, but your putting will have to be 'on' and the wind (since it's just in 1 big field) will have to be down.

There are certain advantages to a small course built in an open field. It soon will become the first course for miles around to be snow free. I played today (March 10), the top 1/3 of the field is dry and clear, and I'm guessing with a few more days "warm" March days it will be all grass. Sunrise Park has a reputation for being "just a pitch and putt" but the 7th hole is 440' uphill, a chance to open up.
