Disc golf course in Waterford?

Post by phykos »

I've been talking to the town Parks & Rec, and it would add some ammo to my case if I could show that there would be a lot of people that might be interested in designing/maintaining/playing and generally supporting a course in SE CT. Any advice/suggestions/encouragement welcome. Thanks.

I'm interested. I'm building a course in Brooklyn right now, but could participate after that. Just completed getting through all the town approvals needed to start installation.

Harkness is an awesome...but it is a state-owned and maintained park. Getting by-in from the CT Department of Energy & Environmental Protection- State Parks Division to allow a course on state property will be difficult.

that park is F'ed..ridden with bike cop ninjas...

but in general it would be dope if one of those shart holes would put a course in on their land...

I have tried to approach them but finding the right person is difficult...many employees play though

Mike O..I will try to get to Brooklyn soon...almost that time of the year again to be visiting CT

Disc golf course in Waterford?

How about, bluff point in Groton, or barn island in stonington? Both have a lot of land, mixed woods and fields. The Waterford Country School in...well Waterford has a ton of land that connects with the trails at the hunts brook dam, and supports a lot of outdoor activitys. I've been in VT for the last decade but still have friends and family in se conn. would be sweet to have places to throw when visiting!

Both Bluff Point and Barn Island are also owned by the State. The Waterford Country School might be an option. It would depend on if the Town would be open to the idea. I'm often in that corner of the state for work and it'd be great to have a course there to play on a lunch break.
