Thank You
Recently I was given the opportunity to become a member of the Community Sports Hub. They are part of Active East Lothian, a very influential committee east of Edinburgh Scotland. I had fifteen minutes to introduce our Club and discuss the benefits of a new disc golf course on the community. It went better than expected when one out of the sixteen at the table had a friend who knew someone that had heard of disc golf, if you know what I mean. They were all very receptive to the sport and I'd like to think we're moving forward with our plans. Believe it or not money is not the issue, it's finding land, every square centimeter of this country has been owned by someone for hundreds of years already. There has been quite an education coming my way regarding farm subsidies and change of use measures. It's not impossible just different, last night was a big step in a good direction. When speaking last night I was lucky enough to follow a gentleman seeking (who is more than likely receiving) funding for a 3G Rugby Pitch at £400,000. I say luckily because the committee was able to see the humor when I stated we could build 5 of the nicest courses Great Britain has ever seen with that budget........ Per£100,000.( Shining even the faintest bad light on Rugby is no way of making friends over here, I wished him every luck and am grateful they laughed)
With as many disc golf courses as there are in New England I know there are many of you who still remember the struggle of establishing something new. So please help the cause and like the page, it may give you a reason to come to Scotland soon.
Thank You

Re: I can feel the like!
Looks like a good reason to take a road trip north, next time we're in England. Last time, we played Quarry Park in Leamington Spa with the head of the BDGA. Turns out, he used to play ultimate with Jason Southwick in Austria! Small world. I believe that it was in 2004, when it seemed that all disc golf players really did know each other.
Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that disc getting bigger?". Then it hits me.

Re: I can feel the like!
I just noticed that out of the 29 courses in Britain, 13 of them are made with portable baskets. Hopefully, thanks to Seamus' enthusiasm, soon disc golf will be as popular there as it has become here.
