Cool mobility device

Post by Chris Mergemekes »

These look pretty dope. Of course, you would need some arm strength and would be difficult for some with arthritis or other issues with hands, but it's still pretty cool.

Chris I have a buddy in St Louis who was paralyzed 3 1/2 years ago. His house is on a golf course and he was a 7 handicap. Among all the things he's regained in his life (including going back to work as an orthopedic surgeon), the purchase of his "paragolfer" chair could be the biggest. He's back to playing golf, and flirting with getting under 100 again. I talk to him all the time, and the excitement in his voice when talking about golf is awesome. The chair stands him up to address the ball, then he moves on to the next shot. Only trouble spots are very steep bunkers.

I'm going to sign up for handicap skier training this fall, so I can help him give monoskiing in a chair a try this winter. Makes you very appreciative of things we take for granted.
