Bridgeport Leagues

Post by Dan-Tressler »

Hey DGers,

I'm going to have the pleasure of Running leagues at the Veterans Park/90 Acres/Park City, Disc Golf Course, in Bridgeport CT.

Having passed by that Park countless times going to my Gmas house near seaside park, I feel it's an appointed duty. I watched those park woods grow up. I've been to many the Carnival, Circus, Fairs, on the "Hole 18" field. Went to camp at the Discovery Museum. In fact, I played my first musical "gig" on the grounds in 1992... and now, with the help of many wonderful people it has become and continues to become a respected disc golf course.

The ACE POT for this week is at $75

The Ace Pot will be capped at $250

Every week we have a better turnout, so let's keep that streak rolling. I'll show up a bit before 5 every Monday rain or shine.

Last week we had a tie breaker at 6 down (48) with Dustin Demilio/Dan Tressler against Tavo/Chirs Scofield. We decided to have a playoff doing a "Jungle" hole, as Marvin described it. The run was from #1 Tee to #8 basket. On the 3rd shot of the playoff, Tavo decided he had enough of the "Jungle", and left it up to Chris. Dustin and I made it there in 4 shots. Scofield decided to match the 4 shot mark and hit a 60 foot downhill putt, pretty close to #2 Tee. At that point we decided his effort was valid enough to split the winnings.

Let's see some peoples out on the course today!

We should easily be able to bring the ace pot to the $100 mark today

Ace pot payout will always be paid out immediately!

I was at the park yesterday and a first timer hit an ace on #14 WTF

Looks like we'll be on the outskirts of the heavy rain today... But a bit of rain never hurt nobody

Thanks for coming out last night, turned out to be a nice evening. A big thanks to Ditterman for bringing some Park City League Scorecards. Very NICE!!

We had 4 teams yesterday, and I ended up flipping a disc for Marvin before he got there. I swear I didn't do anything special, but I landed the only two tail tosses on the first toss. That put Marvin and I together. The reason why I preface with that is because we took the winnings at 6 down (48) and J Tavo/Chris Scofield came close with a 4 down (50).

A few things to keep in mind for this League

* 8 people and under there will be only 1 payout.
* 10 people or more 2 payouts.
* $5 to play (Will go up at some point)
* CTP Prize starts next week.
* Ace pot is up to $86

We had a fun League Session last week and we are going to continue to grow strong every week. Ace Pot is up to $80.00.

I have to apologize for 2 missed weeks, however, I asked a friend to run the leagues and he opted not to.

Sooo, I'm back from Germany and Switzerland (DGolf Tour) ;) Ready to run leagues and take it down!!!

Last week Tavo and I took the golden prize !!!

2 weeks ago we had a good round at leagues... Dustin and I took the ante shooting a 46.

Last week we had 3 people show up... We need more than that, but the good part was that we had a visitor(Kelly) from MA. Scofield, Kelly and I played a singles round with a little dough on the counter. I took home the pasta shooting a 55.

WE HAD 16s BASKET STOLEN.

I'M SURE A LOT OF YOU HAVE HEARD THIS.

WE NEED TO HAVE MORE PEOPLE SHOWING UP SO WE CAN START A POT FOR A BASKET.

5:30 TODAY!!!

ACE POT IS $90

Fun League round yesterday... even though I had another day of meat sticks for hands.

Tavo got an ace on 7 and put the $90 ace pot win towards the stolen basket fund.

Scofield and Dave Jones won it with a 48.

Goodman had a 49 as cali.

Tavo and I shot a 50.

We played a great hole, 18 Tee to 1 Basket... Really nice par 4, with 2 birdies yesterday

Let's get a few more peoples next week

Update for last week and this week...

Dave Jones and Scofield took it down last week ago shooting a nice 49

This past Monday, Mark DeRosa and I snagged it with a 51

Since the 16 basket has been gone, we've been playing a good alternate layout.

17 is:

Tee off from #18 and shoot for #1 Basket.

18 is:

Alternate 10 Tee (Field Shot)

I donated a bit of cash to the Ace pot since Gregg's Ace

It's at $20

Come Monday!

Get it!

Time to get some more Vets in ya... You're going to need as much practice as you can get!!

So we've been having some good tight rounds lately, but we want to keep seeing new faces every week.

Goodman threw an Ace the other day on Hole #3...

Boom...

The Ace pot is low right now, but keep on coming so we can feed it and feed it. It's a Hungry ace pot....

see you today at 5:15

Any update on this course? We're playing a challenge there in three weeks and the info on DGCR seems rather old.
Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that disc getting bigger?". Then it hits me.

I walked the course on Friday, before Christmas, and the course is looking good, except for the workers under the wires. They have completely blocked play on 17, at least when I was there they had. If they are not working, there will be machinery, but it should be playable. On the other hand, they have leveled all the high brush from 12 and 13, lots on 17 and 18 too!
