Re: 19th RI Frostbite Classic / Ice Bowl 2014 Sat Feb 15th
Hey All,
We got some great press for this event...
Front page of the Westerly Sun Sunday edition...
Also made the front page of the Thurs 2/27/2014 Edition of the Wood River Press...
Multiple color pictures with both articles and a good amount of print...
Not sure how to put in a link...
I have been interviewed many times over the years about disc golf...
Much of what makes it into print is not really what was said or the point at hand...
This article is full of fun facts about ME... that I never knew about myself...
It suggests that I was a hardcore ultimate player...but I do not like to run...
All press is good press...fun to read new things about yourself...
Thanks to all who helped makes this event happen...
Maybe next year we will not have a snow pack in place for this event...
We will def have many concrete tee pads for this event in 2015...
Thanks,
T.M.DYER

Re: 19th RI Frostbite Classic / Ice Bowl 2014 Sat Feb 15th
The canned goods, plus $3 of the entrance fee per pound of food,
What does this mean? For every pound of food, 3$ per player goes to the food bank?
If 50 pounds of food are collected each player gives $150.
Or is it $3. per player goes to the foodbank?
25 years of running this event and it has never sold out? Is this true?

Re: 19th RI Frostbite Classic / Ice Bowl 2014 Sat Feb 15th
Of the total profit brought in by running the event, a donation was made to the food bank of $3 per pound of food donated. There was 65 lbs of food donated, so $200 went to the food bank. If you want to break it down by per player, it would be $7.15 per player entry fee that was donated. At least that is what it looks like from the numbers.
Great exposure in the Sun!

Hey Arty,
Thanks for the help...
Hey Mike,
Where did you come up with the "per player" ???
How hard is it...from the very first post in this thread... and from just above...
We collected 65lbs of food...we gave $3.00 per pound as part of our donation...
It actually totaled $195.00...threw in an extra $5.00 to make it an even $200.00...
Not sure how this escapes you...
Hey Matt,
Your grasp of basic math is almost as good as Mikes...
First off the total profit of this event was the $267.00 we donated to the tee pad fund...
The $200 donation to the food bank was an expense of the event
If you were to try to figure out the cost per player...
Total paid players = 34
Total donation - $200.00
Divide 200 by 34 = 5.8823529
Glad that you are at the top paying attention to all those important details...
Thanks,
T.M.DYER
