Huck Town Indoor Disc Golf League at the Bristol Boys Club

Starting this Thursday March 6th at 7pm we’ve got access to the gym at the Bristol Boys Club for 1 hour, we can push it to 2 hours if with get more than 12 people. We have the gym for the next couple weeks or so to test out some formats (this is to get things ready for next year to run it all winter, November to March). So price will be $10, or $6 if you don’t want to play for the pot ($5 gym fee, $4 for nightly pot & $1 league) League money will go towards Baskets and other league stuff. . . .any of this could change over the next couple weeks till we get this straight for next year. . . Also when it starts in Nov. it will be a total of your best 5 weeks scores for an end of the year champion, so you don’t need to be there every week to win the season. Each week I’ll try for the total max scores to add up to the same, if we reach the total max score for that night we will have open play.

We are shooting for 6 baskets

Each night we will play Random Doubles and Singles games to keep a level playing field for all skill levels. To start off the night we flip discs to pair up in groups of 4 or so depending on the amount of people.

Obstacle Course Doubles – hockey net and other equipment from the gym to make a more difficult shot, there will be a line on the floor and the basket, 1 shot each person alternating teams, move around the gym like you would on a course. (singles play also) 10 points per team every basket.

Horse – set up the baskets in the corners and in the center, random card draw groups of 4 or the foursomes from doubles, you line up by age. Every group gets its own basket to shoot at 2 points per shot made. Timed game.

5 & 10 – 2 lines, 5 point line and 10 point , you get one shot from 1 of the 2 lines, 5 point easy shot or the deep putt at 10 points, or doubles each player gests 1 throw from a line of their choice.

Again this is all new, the first week might go out the window and some of this might change. We will have scorecards with the game info on them. More info to follow.. . .

GREAT NIGHT!! Turnout for the first night was 24 people. . . 5&10 and the Obstacle Course was a hit. . . THANKS to everyone that brought baskets. I think we could get 2 rounds of each next week.. see you next week.. and only a couple people get hit... pretty good...

Bumpy! Tonight 7:00 PM last putting league for this year. I think it's safe to say this experiment has succeeded and they are looking to continue the league next winter!

It was a great time this last couple weeks .. Maybe we will do a couple more in the next month or so. . if not the fall is going to be killer with the new Bristol Boys and Girls CLub building opening, that will give us a lot more room. .
