I think this is a double week. Any idea on the layout we will play? Is the start still 4:30? Just as an FYI, the park now closes at 8:00PM! Yay to more time for golf!!

9 hearty soles arrived on a rainy afternoon yesterday. After playing the first two holes with some light rain, we were able to put the raingear away and finish what turned out to be a very pleasant evening.

Bob and Judge along with myself and Lee tied for the win with adjusted 57's. Mike and Mark were close behind with an unadjusted 58 and then Pete and Lauren were on their tail with an adjusted 59. Sandy was Cali and while being in it early, fell off the pace down the stretch.

I like how well the handicaps kept everyone in it and we'll continue to monitor the rounds to see if future adjustments need to be made.

Back to singles next week and I'm going to ask for a favor ...

I have a couple league mates helping me work on a google form and spreadsheet that are going to hopefully/eventually calculate our points for the standings. If anyone else out there are spreadsheet guru's and want to help us work on this, it could be very powerful for us. PM me if so :thumleft:

Sorry for the lack of thought on this fella's ... I started a course last week up at Salem State which meets Wednesday nights and it's just kicking my butt right now on top of everything else. In any event, we played w-b last singles match ... I'm hesitant to pull out b/b yet (maybe next week which is an odd week again - 1st week of June) so ...

Let's play Blue to White tonight since we've yet to play that layout on the singles.

4:30 start, $8 to play

Your challenges today are going to based on how accurately you drive:
  • Front 9 challenge - Split the uprights on hole 4's drive. There are two trees about 40-50' in front of the tee box which are about 20' apart from each other. Go between them with your drive and you've just earned 5 points.
  • Back 9 challenge - Split the uprights on hole 9's drive. There are two tree's off to the right ... about 60' from the tee about 15' apart from each other. This drive has to be part of your round ... it is not the preferred line for most people but if you want your 5 points, you can go for it and who knows, you may get 5 points out of it and it might work out for you as well?

Handicaps:
  • A Pool is for players who generally shoot under par and will receive 0 handicap
  • B Pool is for players who have play disc golf on a regular basis and generally shoot over par. B pool players will receive the following handicaps - 3 strokes on w/w, 4 strokes on b/w, 5 strokes on w/b, and 7 strokes on b/b.
  • C Pool is for players who have little to no disc golf experience. C pool players will receive the following handicaps - 6 strokes on w/w, 8 strokes on b/w, 10 strokes on w/b, and 14 strokes on b/b.

20 players for a handicapped singles round of B/W last night on a beautiful evening at Borderland.

Winning with a PB of 51 was Sam Henderson ... also in the money were Tim Walsh with a 52, John Giampapa with a 53, and Dylan Dunne & Matt Medeiros with 54's.

I'm hoping that Sandy can post the percentage of makes on the two driving challenges that we had on the course yesterday? I always find that information interesting. Sandy is also taking over the spreadsheet operation so we will hopefully have the standings up in the next few days.

We're looking at another singles week next week since it is the first week of June and we're probably going to be playing a trash pickup round of Blue to Blue to help prepare the course for the Spring Fling.

This Thursday It would be great to have a trash round in prep for this Saturdays tourney.
If anyone can help dean work on pebble beach anytime after 1pm - find him near hole 2 - maroon van. We need help putting up the tent at 330.

Hello folks
played w-w wednesday morning and I have to say there was more trash on the course than I can ever remember in the past.........it also looked like 13 white basket has been pulled on quite a bit and loosened from the ground........I will be at course on thursday morning 9 am with trash bag in hand and trying a quick w-w trash
Round.......perhaps the nightly league could also have a trash round.......I know by friday night it will have produced more trash but p3rhaps we can put a dent between everryone thursday.......I am also setting a goal to catch those muthaflowering bass turds with the bud light cans!!!!!! I really hate I cant play league on thursdays with my schedule so I have started a league wednesday mornings.......pay by 915 and tee off 930.....will figure out what to play after assessing the group and trying to make it as even as possible and all have fun!!!
6$ to play....1$ of that goes to course....there will also be an optional 1$ for an ace pot....any comments of positive nature and suggestions and guidance will be appreciated!!!!

Please give him a hand (or two) with this if you're there early.

Thursday Night League - 4:30, $8 to play

Tonight is an even week which means we're playing doubles and introducing Hollywood Hole-out.

Teams have the option to throw to either basket off of their drive. Hole out at White - keep your score. Hole out at Blue - half stroke off score. Teams never have to declare what basket they are going to.

Tonight we're going to play the front 9 from the blue tees, the back 9 from the white.

Questions can go to Sam Henderson :)

See you tonight!!

Sorry to be late to the party ... last day of school today!!

Singles today ... there's a chance I may not be there depending how long I get stuck at our after school party but I'm going to try.

Let's play White to Blue.

Front 9 Challenge - Putt on hole 3's blue basket from down below from about 25 feet ... should be able to make it but the elevation always makes it tricky. 2 putts, need to make 1 of them.

Back 9 Challenge - Up and down challenge on hole 17 from the front edge of the forsithia ... I know I spelled it wong  One chance to get up and down to the blue basket representing a good but poorly placed drive on this tough hole. Many people find themselves in this spot and end up with a four. Let's practice this.

4:30 start ... $8 to play
