Re: Deaf Disc Golfers in the news!!
at the Special O event many many deaf athletes all loving DG
great things were said about the club, austine and attleboro seems to be a hot spot for players
question and not to be politically incorrect but to compete in the Special Olympics does being deaf qualify or does there need to be another qualifing factor as well? was confused
but next year could use ya or someone from the club as communicating we were at the mercy of the guardians
good stuff on the articles for your club,DG,flatrock and my local area
thanks!!!

Well, we do have annual Deaf National Disc Golf Championship since 2000 that are mostly Deaf players who use sign language as their primary mode of communication to compete.
As for Special Olympics, yes, being Deaf WITH additional disabilities (developmental or physical) can be qualified for it.
A "normal" Deaf person wouldn't want to compete in Special Olympics but rather to compete in Deaflympics instead.

Perhaps, I could ask my club to send someone to your event next year to help out on communication needs.
