NEWCOMERS BALL at Maple Hill 10/12/14 *SOLD OUT AGAIN*

Post by Dave Jackson »

Registration: http://www.maplehilldiscgolf.com/

We're going for it again!!!

SUNDAY Oct. 12th

54/54 Teams

We're going to SIXSOMES on every hole!!!!

*Each team must have at least one player who has never played in a tournament before this event, except for the teams comprised of two players that have only played a Newcomers Ball as a tournament*

TWO ROUNDS OF BEST DISC DOUBLES FORMAT ON THE RED COURSE.

-Round one will be on the Red course.
-Round two will be on the Red course too.
Yes there was a change to just two 18 hole rounds on the Red course. We'll have 108 people playing that day and adding extra holes is not prudent to the daeus.

It's going to be a DEUCE fest!!!!

Divisions:
Newcomer/Newcomer
AM/Newcomer
Pro/Newcomer
*MIXED/ NEWCOMER

$50 PER TEAM

Cool players packs coming together for this one. (Shirt, disc, etc)

Side action is strongly encouraged and there will be an optional $10 per team Ace Pot.

Two rounds on the bunny usually results in an Ace!!!

Registration/Check In: 7:30-8:30
Players Meeting @ 8:45
Start @ 9:00

This event was my favorite last year.
Playing the red course is great for every ability level.

*Denotes New Division 8-)

The foliage will be EPIC and so will the day.

Hi Dave,

Can you clarify for us? So does someone qualify as a newcomer if the only tournament they have ever played is the NCB? Or are you saying there is a separate division for people who have only played NCB?

For example, can I, an avid tourney player, play AM/Newcomer with my friend whom has only competed in NCB?

Thanks, no matter what I will be finding someone to play this. It's always a great time!

Well, that is a darn good point.

I was thinking having players that have only played in the newcomers ball event, join someone in the same predicament. Just so someone like my buddy I played with last year, could join someone like JayNo's partner from last year and make a team. Ya heard??!?!?

does that even make sense?

I dunno and I'm all ears.

I thought that is what you were getting at.

The only reason I ask is because I have a friend that will never play any other tournament. He plays maybe once or twice a year with myself and other friends casually but loved playing the NCB last year. I doubt he would want to play with a stranger(he isn't hip to the DG scene and doesn't understand how cool the peeps are yet).

Just curious and anything you decide is cool wit me. I look at it this way, there are going to be newcomers to the sport that are much better than him and there are certainly AMs better than me. And if he can't play as a newcomer with myself or another one of our AM friends then he won't play, and that's just a shame :) haha.

You da man!

We only have 1 spot for the t-shirt size. I'm sure that my male partner isn't going to want a women's size medium. How do you want us to handle this?

I need a medium women's and a medium men's. I put a special note to the seller via paypal with what I needed. If you got that then you can probably have everyone else do it that way.

Hey Dave, Just signed Liam and I up! I left medium in the shirt box for me but I think Liam would get the same S size that JG was asking for his son Jason.

Kids playing an event with their dad as their partner is about as good as it gets in my world.

I'll make sure to score some smalls and some in size littles.

This is gonna be dope.

Just registered for me and Nick Miller. I put an XL in for him. Can I request a Large please?

Can't wait for this. Brought my friend last year for his first tourney. In less than a year, he's now racked up about 15 tourneys. I think you could say he got bit by the bug :-)

You did and I gotcha

So, with the overwhelming lack of attention to the poo poo division, aka pipe dream, we've added another division whilst retracting the unused poo division.

I CAN CHANGE ANY TEAM THAT WANTS INTO THE NEW DIVISION.

If you qualify (male/female) let me know here if you want into the MIXED/NEWCOMER DIVISION

Thanks much everyone.
