NEFA Course Listings
I just saw our tentative TC schedule. Like I always do, I wanted to check out how far away our away matches are. I don't always remember what town every course is in, so I go to the NEFA course listings for a reminder. The page has changed and it no longer indicates what town or state a course is in. I wish I had the knowledge to volunteer to help fix things, but I'm better with a chainsaw than a keyboard. I was checking on FDR and looking at the course listings didn't give me any useful info because the link for the course wasn't even working. Sorry about complaining about the work of a NEFA volunteer without being able to volunteer to fix it myself. Maybe the issue was somehow with my phone.
Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that disc getting bigger?". Then it hits me.

Re: NEFA Course Listings
Agree that there are far better place to get into on courses. What I think we could do is update the links on our pages to take the user out to dg course review.

Re: NEFA Course Listings
NEFA should be able to send someone out to its courses, take x-amount of photos of golf holes and upload pics to the site.
Just another old TullyRockStar livin' the dream...

Why reinvent the wheel? DGCR by far is the best site for course info. The links would be great.

Re: NEFA Course Listings
way to blow off a legit question/concern Walker had.
The NEFA site used to be a one stop shop where you could figure out everything related to New England Disc Golf. No More.
it started with being a pain in the anterior to find league info. next it
was have to go elsewhere for team challenge info. Now it appears best advice to find a course IN NEFA LAND is to use DISC GOLF COURSE REVIEW which in my opinion is an extremely difficult site to navigate.

Re: NEFA Course Listings
Not sure how you say the interactive map on dgcoursereview is difficult to navigate.........
1. Click Browse Map in the Courses drop down.
2. Click the area of interest on the US map.
3. Click the basket icon to see info on a particular course.

Re: NEFA Course Listings
It wasn't meant to be a blow-off response! It just seems like there are much better places for people to maintain their own course info and if we simply link off to it, that would put the burden on the courses/clubs to keep that info up to date, rather than the NEFA organization.
Here is a sneak peak at the test site that is being developed, specifically the courses section, which has exactly what is being requested:

Also, I've updated the link on the current site so FDR links out to a valid location.

Well, the bulk of the work is really migrating the site from the existing backbone to the new one. That takes a lot. In addition, the database and other behind the scenes tweaks are being made, which won't necessarily manifest into a new user experience. However, once that portion is complete, the second phase is a full update with new features that people have been looking forward to.
