Where the hell are all the pro's?
Are they scared?
Wussies?
Busy I'm sure is a valid reason for not attending.
You can get here from anywhere in the northeast and we even have paved roads.
NEFA rents a course for ya and there's only like 25-30 players....?
See ya in the morning

Something is not right if you are only getting fields of 67 and 26. More people than that show up to Devens league in the rain.

Agreed that there should be more, but drawing a comparison to devens league is flawed. A one round commitment at a local league, with no restriction on membership status or prior tournament results, on a course that is very beginner friendly allowing players with less skill to beat a seasoned veteran, etc. Come on Matt...

Congrats to the winners. I heard that a TC conflicted with the finals and many top players in all divisions opted for the TC. This is crazy, I think we (nefa) needs to adjust and move up the finals to late sept.

If that's the case, kind of unfortunate the captains couldn't have avoided that conflict given the amount of advanced notice of the NEDGC. Regardless, I'm all for the last weekend of September being the date going forward and will push for that change.

No need to rip on the Devens course. Come on Matt. I have not really been following the series or the finals. It seems you are moving it to a new level with the added cash. I wonder why people did not both to show up. Were the membership/qualifying standards too stringent? I would think you would fill both days. I wish I had some constructive ideas but I don't have enough info to do that.
Craig, I don't think you can blame TC. They could have scheduled any other day but chose this one. That says something to me.
Congrats to Timmy!

Comparing a weekly league to a season ending regional championship is kinda lame, right?
Kinda overstating the obvious, no?
My hat is off to all involved in the NEDGC. Many players were very happy with the efforts made to make this event happen.
Just remind the people with all the bright ideas and brilliant observations that the "Suggestion Box" is conveniently located directly next to the "Donation Box".

Actually, I do not think it is lame to compare league to the championship. More people should be excited about playing in the championship than in a local league right? How many people show up to Borderland league or Maple Hill league a couple dozen? Yet when they host tournaments they are filled with a wait list.
NEFA should be looking at why there was not a wait list for finals. Why didn't people show up? How many people who did qualify chose not to show up and why? Did they not like the venue? Did they not like Meow? Was it too far? Too late in the season?
I am not knocking the event and I am sure it was a great time, especially for those that got to play Maple yesterday on a beautiful October day. What a treat it must have been to have that entire course to yourselves. Maybe that was the point?

How was it that Jon Bon got to play both days? I thought you had to play in the highest division you qualified for. Was there an exception made for some on this rule? I know Hollywood Henderson was lobbying to play both days and was shot down.
I had a good time with the players in attendance. That course!!#*%$#... Maple F'n Hill!
Thanks to the countless volunteer hours it takes to put on this regional series and finals. The efforts are appreciated by most.

Since I'm already paid up through next year, I donate my membership to Rob Tatro for 2015. Since he clearly can't be responsible for renewing his own membership on time.
I don't know why more people didn't come in off the waitlist to play on Saturday, maybe the rain kept them away? I agree, moving this to September should help; I know I would have played if it were earlier. All pros that played in 3 events were elligible, so it certainly wasn't too restrictive.
Mike, there was nothing in the rules that said you couldn't play both days -- Rick clarified this at some point, Sam could have played. We'll try our best to clean up the charter and close loopholes before the end of the year, hopefully we can get as much feedback/suggestions as possible in advance.
Thanks for everyone who helped, and Pure Flight, and mostly to Maple Hill for hosting! I didn't get to stick around for the party, did people hang around or did playing the rain send people home?

Re: 2014 New England Disc Golf Championships $1189 Added Pro $$$
I think it was just a tough date for most of us.
It happens, I don't think there is any reason to get overly critical about the attendance. Most of us probably just had a scheduling issue. Trust me, I would have definitely played if I were available.
Late in the season is just tough to schedule, it's just how it is, either people will be free to play the event or they won't. I look forward to (hopefully) playing next year!
Congrats to all the winners!

You've been calling for this for a while Gary! I remember the original discussion which came up related to losing discs in the leaves and costing the player the tournament, and it being a finals shouldn't be played in those types of conditions, etc. All very good points. Hopefully this will stick and we will be moving NEDGC up a few weeks and into September. We would lose dates for NEFA events, but still.

You will only lose a few events for one year. Why can't the schedule start for the following year right after the Finals. T"he Fall Finale" will now be the "Falls First"

Patrick Dicaprio stated this in both invite threads
You may only play in the division that you qualified for. If you qualified for more than one division, the choice is left up to the player.
Very misleading to some.
I also don't understand how jonbon got to play am and pro.

Rick replied as such to this question from Sam asking if he could play AM and Pro.
There is nothing in the 2014 NEFA Points Charter that would prevent someone from playing Pro and Am in this year's NEDGC. This player requirement was in the NEFA Points Charter for the NEFA Finals, prior to 2013, since Pros and Ams played at the same course on the same day in the NEFA Finals. The 2013 NEFA Points Charter did not have this player requirement for the first NEDGC, however Pros and Ams played on the same day at different courses.
John, Karl and Rick all played both days.
