People don't even show up when Karl shows up to return discs to people.

I've got many gym teachers that would love to get 200-300 discs for their students. I'd donate all of them on the list and start from scratch if I were you.

Kind of what Dave said in the previous post...

I understand that people have lives and that the VAST majority of it is WAY more important than claiming L&F disc golf discs, but a bit disappointed (to say the least) that only 4 discs (by 2 different people) were claimed in 3.5 hours of my plunking my butt down at Buff and waiting. In the past sometimes someone would show up and get discs for a lot of his/her buddies; something like this of course is fine. The bottom line is to try to get the discs back to their throwers. But if I'm going to put in the effort to SCUBA the discs out from 20+ feet down, clean them off, log them in Excel, post them on NEFA and the kiosk at Buff, I'd like to think that SOME people might even want them back and come and claim them! I've over 500 presently (all sorted - so you can actually find yours among the rest of them) and some I've kept for 4 or more years (HOPING that the person would show up). Just not sure how much longer I can keep doing this....

Suggestions? I'm all ears...but any new system will have to be "as convenient as possible" or BOTH you and me (...just not you). Remember, I'm doing the work here (you just threw a no-so-great shot....).

Yes anything that brings more light to when you are around. I would start a FB Page called "Karl's disc lost and found" or something. Unfortunately NEFA is an extremely poor method of so social media unless you are running a tournament or involved in stupid and pointless banter on some part of the page.

To be 100% honest with you I want my 4 discs back but I completely forgot you were going to be at Buff. I literally did nothing all day but clean house and watch Saving Private Ryan while waiting to go to Keith Burtt's party at 6:00pm. If you had a page that I belonged to, you could have posted on there as you were headed out the door and everybody who's a member gets an instant update reminding them. If you want to communicate with the masses then you need to go where the masses communicate.

Another social media idea is that we now have a "Buffumville disc golf club" Facebook group with more than 200 members. This reaches many locals (and nonlocals) who are never on NEFA. if you have FB, search for the group... Otherwise I can try to post updates on the page if I know what the updates are. Like Gary I was not tuned in.

Another dive was done and disc were found (imagine that!). I will again post them here on NEFA, post a list on the kiosk, call / email as many people as possible AND provide you guys with the list - hoping that you can 1) post it / notify people of such and 2) tell them when I'll be a Buff with all the discs. I'll not have the revised (with the new discs) list completed for a week or 2 and then will give people a month or so lee-time to plan to come there, etc. Which means I'll next be at Buff with all the discs some Sat am in early Nov.

While your suggestion SEEMS to "make sense", it is VERY difficult to lug around 600+ discs to every tournament I go to HOPING that I'll run into someone who MIGHT want their disc back. Want to buy me a bigger truck (so I can keep all the discs with me ALL the time)?
If you do see yours / eastern-MA dgers on the list, I'd hope / think that ONE of you guys could show up and get ALL the applicable discs. I dove for them, cleaned them, logged them in Excel, posted the list, and am coming up from CT with them...someone coming to the location THEY lost them (I'm guessing) is NOT too much to ask....

I am not insinuating that what you do is not appreciated, just was wondering if there was a better way to re unite the discs with owners. I see about 20 discs on there I would grab from you because I know I will see those people soon enough. I can't get out to Buff Saturday though...
