I would love to come down there again. If there is anyone in the eastern MA area who'd like to go, and carpool the 80 minutes to Ninigret, I can arrange something. Hopefully we won't have half a foot of snow before the end of the third round this year.

If you've never played there, it is a rather different play and enjoyable from every tee for every player. Hoping to win novice this year to hear my name overshouted by the word "bagger!"

By the way, TM not only is a great TD, but he also mows down the snow on the course with a tractor to limit lost discs!

Hey Andrew,

Thanks for the Kudos...

It seems that the online link did not quite bring you to a registration place...

I believe I have added the correct link to bring you to the right place...

Thanks,

No payout info listed. Just wondering what 25.$ gets a playa? Is it tee pad fund or will there be some prizes/cash for winners?

Been a while since I played Nini. How is the snow level?

TM:

The link only goes to "Community Pass" with no option for the Frostbite classic. The town website has it with again no option to register. I will continue to check for updates but I will be down there for this event.

Hey Andrew,

The Community Pass is the registration site...

You need to create a user name etc...

I was not given any options beyond this from the town this year...

I do not like the system at all...hard to navigate...wants way to much info to get started...

Options for payment method are slim...

I will be happy to process your registration in the am... day of the tourney...

Hope this makes sense...
Thanks,

We are raising funds for the RI Food Bank...

$3.00 will be given for each pound of food collected...

Any funds left after expenses will be put into the course fund for concrete tee pads...

Trophies/prizes will be given to the top three in each div...

Hey Matt,

There is about a foot of crusty snow...

You can almost walk on top with out breaking through...

When you break through you go down about 4inches...

Should be hard to lose the discs...

Will be at the course tomorrow cleaning off more tees and creating walking paths down the fairways...

Looks like just like last year...snow in the late afternoon...into the eve thru sun...

I got finished with the Frostbite last year...got into a plow truck for the overnight and into the next day...between 16 and 18 hrs behind the wheel...after a full day of running the tournament...

Looks like I might be in for the same this year...

Have confirmed with the Nature Center for Reg/check in...

Have confirmed with the Community Center for lunch and awards...

Have confirmed with Kingston Pizza to take lunch orders in the am...

Have received the Ice Bowl shwag and trophies...

Hope to see many new/old faces on Sat morning...

Thanks,

Looks like fun. I will expect another 3 hour drive home for a normally 80 minute commute.

Should be there if I get over my cold.

And the carpool is still open for those here in snowbound eastern MA.

Might be the only practice I get before the Minuteman (keeping in mind I'm still on the waitlist).

Hey man,

I was going to try and head down to Nini tomorrow with a couple buddies but they both bailed. How far out of your way is Pawtucket? I'd happily pay with gas or grass to jump in the carpool

I want photographic proof of only 4 inches of snow. My Dad lives in Charlestown and he was complaining about massive snow removal issues.

I can swing through Pawtucket if you want. It is actually a touch quicker than going 295. Send me a pm with pickup info. It would be sometime between 7 and 7:30 am. I want to be at Nini by 8 to 8:15 to warmup and register.

Anybody else on the carpool? This would include eastern RI as well.

Hey Mike,

Says something about " a FOOT(12 inches) of Crusty Snow"

break though the crust and you are standing on 8 inches of powder...

some places deeper than others due to drifting...

Should be a lot of fun...

I don't want to steal TM's thunder, so I will let him post all the results, but here is a brief synopsis:

I believe we had 18 or 19 that started the day under dry conditions. The snow was, as TM mentioned, about a foot deep, and crusty, so that made for tough footing and quite the challenge with repeated trudging down each hole. Although my card played well the first round, it was evident through a chunk of the second round that this was going to be different than years past.

Snow fell off and on the majority of the second round, and by the third round it was coming down at a good clip. Not as fast as the 2014 tournament snowstorm, but still enough to cover the roads making the trip home for everyone quite challenging.

As for the tournament, I will leave everything to TM when he is done plowing and can post, but this was a fun event again and hopefully we can have a good turnout in '16.
