Right now, no. However, the committee is discussing it. The reason is simple for closure. When there is snow, there will be kids sledding. I would be sick to find out that a kid was hit because of a disc golfer playing the hole. Therefore, we are considering ways to mitigate that risk as much as possible. The simplest and clearest solution is to pull the pins, however, that would leave us without a hole 17. This is something that would take effect next season.
It would be shame to take out 17 perm, could they put in a new 17 going out the far right corner of 16 where there used to be an alternate short bucket ? That could bring you out to the road by 3 long somewhere and then you could then walk up the road to 18.......

In alternate shot, will the team get to decide who shoots it every hole or must it alternate? I.E, if my drive is taken on hole one, must my partner take it and I take our approach for hole 2, etc?
Curious to see how this will play, as I have never played Scotch dubs.

In Scotch doubles, both partners tee off on every hole and they choose the better of the two throws. If they choose Player A's drive, Player B must throw from it. If they choose Player B's drive, Player A must throw from it. Then the team continues to alternate until the hole is finished. The simple way to keep things straight is to remember that you will never play from your own disc/lie. Except at the tee, you only throw from where your partner's disc landed.
Pretty deep out there, but totally playable! The tee boxes are clear and paths are stomped between the tee and pin. Will be interesting to see how the rest of the week weather changes things, but fingers crossed the rain comes in and hardens up the snow further.
Played league yesterday and it was awesome! No lost discs. Going to get some more paths stomped down during the week and by Saturday, they should be nice and firm for walking.
Get as close as you can to the pin or the path to save on walking through the snow.
We won't be able to play Hole 17 white, so instead, we will be teeing off from 17 blue playing to 16 blue pin. It's a stupid hole, but given the conditions out there, we don't have much of a choice for anything else.

Not really thinking of changing anything right now. I'm currently considering moving our player meeting up to 830 in order for us to get both rounds complete on time. It took us 2.5 hours to play yesterday as a six-some playing ready golf. Being a six-some also allowed for more eyes to find discs, so I think it balanced out time wise and think we are looking at around the same length of time for our tournament rounds. People starting on holes 10-15 are in for a long walk, in both distance and time to get back to tourney central. The short hole being played from 17 blue tee to 16 blue pin is a quick hole that is also not any extra distance/time spent walking. It's also a challenging shot.

Unless you start on that "hole".
I'll play from my car to the trash can if the TD says so.
Check in will run from 8-830. I'm drafting up the player meeting notes and will get them shared with everyone tomorrow. That means, no players meeting. Two minutes will be called at 8:58 and start at 9. You are responsible for getting out to the tee on time!
There will be lunch order taken in the morning, however, if you are not into pizza, subs, or salads, plan on bringing your own food. The orders are taken from Cousin's Pizza, so if you end up forgetting to order in time, you can call them on your own.
There will be a raffle, with tickets being sold for $10. See Sam Henderson in the morning to purchase a ticket. The winner will get:
Please review the following Player Meeting Notes. There will not be a formal players meeting. At 8:30, a hole that has both teams assigned present and checked in, will grab their score card (and ctp flag if applicable) and make their way out to the hole. Please let me know if there are any questions.
