Spring Training...

Post by Dave Jackson »

Spring training is not reserved for Baseball anymore.

Last year, I participated in Spring Training in the Panhandle state of Florida. We played about 8 or 9 courses within 6 hours of driving, during a five night stay.

This year I am imagining a similar type agenda in a different location. Florida is cool, just no elevation and the disc golf was so-so.

I'm posting this looking for suggestions where to go in mid to late February where I can play disc golf without wearing winter gear.
Maaaaybe even play in shorts if possible.

Let me know if you've got any suggestions 8-)

Thanks!

Austin, TX. I've been living there since April and I have not been disappointed with the quality or quantity of courses. I would give a low estimate of 20 courses within 2 hours. Championship quality stuff too, TX States has been a half hours drive for the last two years at Old Settler's Park and Manor. Check it out!

I lived in Austin a couple summers ago, some surprising
good and some lame. Roy G is dope Nantucket style and
Austin Ridge Bible had a unique challenging design with
some cool elevation....I liked the Manor alot but held back with
lots of mids to stay clean with all the cacti. If you went off
the fairway I was advised to use a stick and bang around
as there are lots of rattle snacks there, glad I didnt bring
my dog that day.......Good stuff

Someone here would definitely have more details than me, but I recall that there's usually a big tournament in/near Vegas right around that weekend in February.
