Cost is $10. All funds raised go to the MA Performance Flight Representative.

Participants must be PDGA current, must have a rating higher than 875, be a certified official, and must have a minimum of 12 PDGA rated rounds between August 1, 2014 and the last ratings report prior to the 2015 USDGC.

Greenleaf can you confirm that I am eligible for the MA spot being that I registered that I live in RI despite being a Mass resident. I believe I read somewhere that players from smaller states are eligible to play for a USDGC spot in bigger market states but not vice versa

Jimmy, So I checked with the USDGC, i'm going to take this to PM though.

Matt/Ira, I signed up and wanted to sponsor "OB Road" but didn't see the option; I chose hole 5 instead. Please change me over to OB Road whenever its convenient. Thanks!

PS: no, I wasn't hitting refresh over and over since 6:50; that would be weird, right?

28 registered players so far. Ira is working on getting the pre-reg list updated and the hole sponsorship worked out to move people to holes that a) weren't available in the lookup, and b) already taken by someone.

Pre-reg list is updated and posted in the second post. Hole sponsors still need to shake out and Ira plans on getting that taken care of shortly.

OK, online reg will be going back live tonight for Hole Sponsors at 8pm. The Hole sponsors list is updated HERE. Hopefully the reg will not allow you to select a hole that is not available (numbers wise). Check the list and either select a blank hole, or choose a hole already assigned.

This year, all Am divisions will be getting a player pack that includes 1 Dynamic Discs disc, 1 Innova disc, a DD mini, DD koozie, mini sharpie, and Borderland Dry Fit shirt. I'm debating a new way of distributing the player packs this year to try and make the check-in process easier and quicker for everyone involved.

At our other events, we would have all player pack discs out on the table and as people check in they would go and grab a disc. The line would move very slowly as people pick out the best disc from the pile or fuss over the 1 g difference between the two discs in their hands before choosing.

With the added disc selection, shirt, and other items in the pack, I'm thinking of doing away with it. Am and Pro players would still be split into two lines. Pro players would check in, get their selected shirt size and move along. Am players would check-in and be handed a bag that included their shirt size and everything else from the players pack, then move along.

The obvious downside to this is that players won't get a selection for the specific disc they want. Some people may get a GStart Thunderbird, while others get a Roc3. If people want, they can simply stand off to the side and create a trading market place to get the disc they wanted. I want to hear from the AM players on their thoughts regarding this style of check-in/player pack delivery. Let me know your thoughts on this, good or bad, and I will promptly ignore the negative ones.

This sucks!

Just kidding, they did this at the Vineyard and it made the sign-in process so much less painful it was great. We all ended up trading discs on the ferry and I think most people left with something they wanted. I hope everyone can see the upside to this, it's way more bettah

P.S. I paid for a DD disc, I better not get a Thunderbird or a Roc3

Jimmy DG:

If you get a Roc3 I will gladly trade. Wanted to throw one for a long time just never wanted to spend the money only to not have it work out.

As far as check-in process, Matt and Ira, this should be a welcome sight. Sign in, lunch order, bag, trade outside, good stuff.

Can June 6 get here any quicker?

not playing, but I like the mystery-player-pack for faster check-in. Also like the no-player meeting. I usually get to a course early before check-in, so I can play for a bit, and then go checkin, and then back out, and then back in, and out again. If I could show up right and check-in, and then play until start time, would be perfect. down with player meetings!

Pre-packaged checkin sounds fine.

Player meetings are helpful. In 2013 when I did my first tourney at Borderland I knew no one, didn't know what a "CTP" was, and needed clarification on the 2-meter and certain OB rules.

In the end i don't think it will matter but I would suggest allowing people to choose their disc when they turn in their first round card. This way all people are staggered (based on when they finish the round), you can control better who is taking discs, it doesn't eat into the tourney because it is during lunch and if people complain that they have to walk across the course they should have sponsored a hole. This is the way the bigger tourneys do it. Generally you get 1-2 in the player pack and then a disc per round that you get to choose after each round. Now they do it to reward players rather than people just buying players packs but i think it would work here.

What "bigger tourneys" are doing this? I have never heard of such a thing and it seems like a poor use of time for anyone involved with running the tournament. It is usually time consuming enough for the TD and the volunteers help to get all of the scores checked/tallied/recarded for a quick lunch time turn around. The priority needs to be the competition part of the tournament not the AM players pack, if people are that concerned about what discs they are getting there are plenty of online retailers that have a very specific option to order exactly what discs they want.

Having been lucky enough to play many bigger tournaments in recent years across the country, I concur with Jimmy. I've never heard of this...TDs and volunteers are plenty busy at the break - they don't need another distraction. I don't get a players pack, but I want the volunteers and TD fully focused on getting the scores tallied accurately. The mystery players pack works quite well at the Vineyard tourney. Perhaps you should volunteer to organize the disc swap marketplace at lunch Mr. Harding.

Am I hearing a groundswell for ROC3s in the player pack? Metal Flake? The Innova discs have not been ordered yet but will be soon.

Give them a player pack, if they want a different disc, sell it or trade.

Keep it simple! Choice over every detail is not simple. TD discretion rules the day.

Is this Matt Harding guy aware of the groundswell of disapproval with his behavior?

I was trying to avoid a public flame war over a "suggestion" by not responding to the criticism. I apologize for what ever disrespect people felt i meant by my suggestion. I am not sure what "behavior" you as speaking about? The TD's original post was looking for suggestions so i posed one. I was just looking for a way for people who wanted to be able to choose to get that option. To the post that said that the TD should focus on scores and shouldn't have to worry about discs being handed out is a perfectly reason not to do it.

If you guys have an issue with something i said please feel free to PM me but i meant no disrespect. Lets keep the thread back on topic and thank Matt DeAngelis for all the hard work he is putting into this tournament and not sideline it unnecessarily.
