For those who are interested, the Spring Fling tournament is one of the 6 qualifying events to select the Massachusetts representative to the 2015 USDGC. If you are interested in trying to qualify for this spot, the info is as follows:

How it Works

-Any person wishing to qualify can enter in as many events as they want, separate $10 fee for each qualifying attempt.
-100% of qualification fees go to the winner to help offset travel expense.
-The highest performance rated tournament finish among the events will be chosen to represent MA in the Performance Flight at the 2015 USDGC. Performance scoring is individualized (handicapped) scoring based upon your individual rated performance at the event relative to your individual PDGA rated expected performance.
-In the event of a tie, there will be an Octagon Death Match. The player with the higher PDGA rating will win.

There are 6 qualifying events (with one additional event pending TD approval to be added).

The events are:

Eastern MA Championships

Tourney 54

Borderland Spring Fling

Crane Hill Open

Cape Cod Open

Nantucket DGO

I will be on site at many of these events to sign people up and collect the $10 per event fee.
YOU MUST SIGNED UP PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ROUNDS ON THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT.

VERY IMPORTANT INFO FOR PLAYERS

So before people pay the $10 to qualify at each event you should know these key things

You Must:

- be a resident of MA

-be PDGA current

-be a Certified Official

-be 875 rated or higher

And before you are eligible to attend the event should you qualify, you MUST have a minimum of 12 PDGA rated rounds between August 1, 2014 and the last ratings report prior to the 2015 USDGC.

I can't edit your post Matt. If you can cut and paste this info over your post (since it adds some info) that'd be awesome.

The waitlist has been updated in the second post, and is current as of 6pm today.

For those of you on the waitlist, if you come to Borderland on June 6 in the hopes of getting in, please make sure you CHECK IN to let us know you are there. I recommend doing so early in the check in process, if possible. If there are drops the day of, we will get those slots filled from anyone on the waitlist that is at the event and checked in.

I'll clarify how the day of/wait list will work. If you want to play inn the event, but didn't get in during normal registration, do the following:

1. Sign up now for the wait list. If you don't get in, you get a full refund.
2. If you don't want to sign up and pay now, show up first thing on Saturday and you will be put art the bottom of the waitlist.
3. After final call for any players that have not checked in, wait list players who are present will get in, by order of the waitlist. We will run down the list of players on the waitlist, starting at the top, and work our way down from there.

So, if you are on the waitlist and want to play, show up in the morning. If you are on the waitlist, but don't want to roll the dice and show up day of, please let us know and we'll process your refund. Good chance at least one person won't show up day of, and a happy waitlisted player will get in.

This might get covered in the course notes but I wanted to throw this out there just for my own understanding about an OB rule:

Playing White-to-Blue yesterday, consider hole #10. There is OB rock wall behind the white basket but it the wall stops at a certain point. If disc lands on the rock wall or beyond it is OB - however when does that OB end as you move to the right? I guess the question is - is there a 'perpendicular line' at the termination of the wall where the OB stops?

It would be cool if there was a rope that continues from the termination of the rock wall and wraps around the 'rough' area behind the white pin. Basically, there is a "circle" of OB behind the white pin, but once you get past the rough overgrown area, and onto grass, it is IB. I will get out there this evening to put some fresh OB line up. Thanks for the question.

How do we stand for tags for sale? I've got about 10 tags, not sure how many other people have for sale. Tags are $20. If we don't have anyone hit the Sunday morning Ace Pot (and it hasn't been hit in the 3 years I've run league) we do a tag holder only ace race in the fall from Y-W withy $300 added! I'll be there to play and sell tags on Saturday. Just look for the guy who looks like a hippie :D

I have 17 tags left for sale, #84-100. In my opinion the 100 tag is the sweetest looking one and I know I'm not the only one that thinks so! Let's get that one into circulation soon :D

Between Lee and I, we have about 25 tags. His are the higher numbers (87-100). Mine are lower (43 to 52 or so). All $20. Since everyone is playing the same layout first two rounds, everyone can get in on the tag fun!

Recreational and Intermediate women will be playing Whites first round. They will also be playing from the drop zone tee on Pebble Beach, while everyone else plays from the back tee, both rounds.
